## Developing a shopping mall

Project of Developing a Shopping Mall

# Project Charter

We are trying to develop a building in to a mall. The name of the mall will be mega mall. We will discuss many process groups and elements in the project so that it could be clearly state that what we are going to do.

## Stakeholders identification

The stakeholders are the persons who effect or due to which project can be affected. The stakeholders for the project specifically include project managers with all team members (Institute, 2008).  The stakeholders will be

• Shopkeepers
• Small and medium business enterprisers
• National and multinational companies
• Educational institutions
• Different persons working in the shopping malls
• Government

We need to take care of all the stakeholders so that there would be no problems once the project is started. On the win-win strategy, they need to be checked and should give positive response to them.

## Development of Project management plan

The shopping Mall is designed to provide enough space for all kind of businesses to establish their shops and facilities. The shopping Mall not only facilitates business and economic activities, it also provides space and facilitations for educational institutions to make setup for educational purposes. Moreover, space is also allocated for stalls and the other shops. We will start from the very beginning and the all kind of matters will be taken care of so that there would be nothing left behind in term of project. All the activities will be done like flooring, doors, paint, the electrical work, woodwork, stalls will be set up. Further heating and cooling systems will be set up there, emergency doors, elevators, different shops, Cinema; restaurants will be taken care of so that people got attracted towards the mall.

## Requirements

The requirements we are going to meet in this project are also some of the deliverables, which we are going to achieve. It includes the

• five floors of the mall
• One basement and two parking slots beneath the basement
• 50 shops in one floor, which means that total there will be 200 shops in the whole mall.
• top floor there will be a cinema,
• Three restaurants as well which will be fixed and they need to be there
• Lot of stalls in every floor of the mall which total comes up to 125
• Elevators will be fixed in the mall that will be 6 in number

# Project Scope

In the project scope we will be discussing about the overall scope of the project that what will be include and what will be excluded in the project.

## In scope

The scope of the project is majorly based on the work break down structure of the construction of the shopping mall. The work break down structure is majorly consisting of activities that include startup, mobilization, engineering, procurement, construction and closing. A detailed WBS will be explained in which all the roles and the responsibilities will be discussed. Further, we have discussed the deliverables and that all will be in the part of the scope. From the allocation of the stores, flooring, materials of all kind, alarms, electronics, painting, finishes etc.

## Out of scope

Several activities are out of the scope of the project. The Mega shopping Mall does not contain helipad and runway for the planes. These are usually built on the top of the Mall. The space is allocated however; the helipad and the runways will be developed later on. Besides that, every facility will be provided in the shopping Mall. Hence, this is the basic information in this regard. Further if we talk about the main mall project then the main part is the construction, which is included in it. However, here it is also not included as the building is already there we just need to make it in shape of mall.

# Initiating stage

In the stage we will focus on the initial stages of the projects, which will, includes the requirements, goals, budgets, and costs deliverables and so on. Here all of them will be discussed that these need to be done.

There is a different requirement, which needs to be fulfilled in order to achieve the project goal. There are different parts in the project that needs to be taken care of. All the deliverables will be taken care of. They need to be done within 6 months of time. Within that all the floors, cinema, restaurants, shops will be finished so that the mall could be started and we could earn profits.

## Stakeholder analysis

Stakeholders could include shopkeepers, managers, owners of other malls, institutions, community, the partners of the project. Different persons working in the shopping malls can be the stakeholders too. The government is also our stakeholder as we are under the government and if they change any policy regarding any thing we will be affected by them. We need to take care of all the stakeholders so that there would be no problems once the project is started. On the win-win strategy, they need to be checked and should give positive response to them.

## Project Charter (Cost, task, deliverables and schedule)

If we look in to the broader term then there are many deliverables, which we are expected to completed within the period of 6 months. There is couple of deliverables, which needs to be done such as flooring, materials of all kind, alarms, electronics, painting, finishes, restaurant, Flooring will be there, electrical and cooling system will be there. Emergency doors, bells and alarms will be fixed on every floor, Lightening and other appliances. Everything will be completed in the next six months from the date initiated.

# Planning stage

Everything has been decided, in the initiating stage and an overview has been given that what type of project it will be. Here we will move toward the planning phase in which everything detailed will be explained in the project.

## Scope statement

The scope statement for this project will be to achieve the deliverables in the next 6 months most effectively and efficiently so that the project could be completed and business could be started. All the deliverables need to be in the finished product when the time is over.

## Planning team

There will be a whole team, which we will be required in order to look on every step of the project. There will be total of five managers, which will look in to the projects. One will be responsible to look after the shops when they are in process like paint and the woodwork. 2nd will be looking on the top floor who will be responsible for the restaurants and cinema and will overcome all problems. Third will be looking for the all electric work of the mall which include wiring and other electronics, 4th will be looking for the flooring, elevators , that needs to be done. 5th manager will be responsible for the remaining items like the emergency doors, fire and smoke alarms, camera and other useful products which needs to be installed. There will be a project manager look on everything, so that every department is connected to one another.

## Identifying the deliverables and costs

There are couple of deliverable which need to be focused the list is been given below

• Flooring of all five floors needs to be done and with estimation, it will cost around $20,000. • 220, Doors will be required and the woodwork will be required in the shops, in the mall and in the other sitting place an estimation cost is almost$18,000.
•  Paint will; be required in all five floors and with estimation, it will cost around $15,000. • The electrical work, electronics and the cooling systems will be set up there in the every floor and there will be a huge expense for that which will be around$85,000.
•  Different Stalls will be set up and that will be made of aluminum and glass which, will cost around $10,000. • Woodwork needs to be done and it will cost around$24,000 as it will be used in the shops and all around the mall
• There will be 5 emergency doors one on the each floor, 6 elevators at the different corners of the mall which will cost around $45,000. • Different shops will be given to the persons who want to make Cinema and restaurants so that they will be taking care of that all and we will only receive a monthly rental for that. ## Work breakdown structure ## Activities (sequence, resources, duration) • We have a grey structure ready and we need to make it a mall. • Start the work with the electrician so that all the building must have light in it. • The next thing in the building will be the flooring so that the base could be created. • carpenter and the stall person will be activated • Further elevators will be set up. • There will be paint in the whole building so that all the rough work • security appliances will be set up on each • Selling of shops will be in progress. The main thing to focus over here is that first all these steps will be completed on the first floor then on second and the third. However, the labor got free from his work he will start on the second floor and so do the painter and the carpenter. It means that each floor will take its own time not every floor will be completed once; it will go gradually starting from the ground until the fifth one. ## Networking the activities The networking of all the activities is very important as we have mentioned that when the work will be in process at that time the networking part will be really important as ne part is been completed then the second is started and the third is followed by it. This is a chain and that needs to be looked into each other. The project manager will be doing the coordination in between all the managers so that everything could be coordinated and there would be no lags in the operations of the project. ## Resource requirements If we talk about the resources then they are which are needed to fulfill the deliverables of the project. The resources, which we need, are the electrical equipments and products, paint and accessories, wood and its parts, elevator machinery and itself. Tiles for the floor, cement, and stuff. Electric alarms, heating, cool systems. However, these products we need and to make these resources in to finished products we need the skilled labor and the managers so that everything could work well. For that, different labors are needed and different 5 managers are required so that every phase could be went smoothly. ## Time and cost of activities The detailed number and the costs have been mentioned in the planning stage so now here let me provide with the time and the cost that when these all activities will be started and when they will be finished. • Flooring of all five floors needs to be done and with estimation, it will cost around$20,000 and it will take around one month to cover all mall.
•  220 Doors will be required and the woodwork will be required in the shops, in the mall and in the other sitting place an estimation cost is almost $18,000. It will take around 18 days to be completed. • Woodwork needs to be done and it will cost around$24,000 as it will be used in the shops and all around the mall. It will start from very first day and will take around 5 months to complete.
•  Paint will be required in all five floors and with estimation, it will cost around $15,000 and it will take around 2 months from the starting point. • The electrical work, electronics and the cooling systems will be set up there in the every floor and there will be a huge expense for that which will be around$85,000. It is the main work and it will covers up to 1 month for the wiring and further it will take 1 more month for the electric appliances and so.
•  Different Stalls will be set up and that will be made of aluminum and glass, which will cost around $10,000. It will take about 45 days to complete all. • There will be 5 emergency doors one on the each floor, 6 elevators at the different corners of the mall which will cost around$45,000. In addition, it will take 15 days to install the elevators.

Here we need to keep in mind those different managers and different labors will work together in order to compile the work quickly. As one department will end up the work, other will take that place and will continue to make the place better.

The process and the time have been discussed earlier also the sequence have been explained so that everything could go easier and there would be no problem in the development of the mall. If we talk about the budget then if we total up all the costs we come to know that on an estimate we require $0.5 million to complete the project. Which include all the labor cost, material cost, the licensing, safety measures and everything. Quality The project quality is based on the implications of total quality management, therefore achieving continuous improvement in execution of employee performance towards the development of shopping mall. The quality controlling programs will be initiated for the completion of project in effective way. There will be certain certificated, which we will have when the mall will be completed. Further, when it will be in the process then the regular quality check will be there and it will be done on the weekly basis too. HR In human resource management, each employee allows his or her specific job description to perform for the development of shopping mall. The roles and responsibilities in the project management provide the indication to execute every employee with high performance management. The people will be hired on the extremely merit basis. We will hire the workers who are capable enough and the cost will be minimum, further, it is one of the important part in the project and that’s the reason it will be taken care of. The supervisors will be looking in to the every aspect and there will be strict control on that. Risk The major risk taken place towards the changing rules and regulations of government for the size of project. The funding requirements for initiation of project and uncertainty in developing shopping mall with other shopping mall projects give tough time to the development of shopping mall. There are couples of risks which creating the mall but the good thing is that we have already covered all type of risks. Example the fire and safety equipments have been set up. Fire and smoke sensors are there all the time activated. Further six emergency door s 1 on the every floor is to minimize the risk. Life cycle The project life cycle has been taken place for the four stages initiation, planning, execution as well as closure to indicate the major steps in the project planning. Each step in the projects is clearly demonstrated to intake major considerations in well manner. In the initiation stage, the project charter will be passed and all the documentation will be done. In the planning phase, everything will be decided that how and where the things will work. In the execution phase the implementation will be done and ion the closing phase everything will be closed so that every activity is completely finished. ## Risk planning There are certain risks associated with the project of developing shopping mall. Lack of corporate funding as well as uncertainty indentify for the potential customers in the shopping mall. Changes of laws and compliance standards change the associate with the project of developing shopping mall. # Executing stage Until this stage all the planning have been done. Every detail has been discussed and with respect to time, cost and quality have been cleared. Now in the execution stage the project needs to be executed and started so that everything could work smoothly. ## Process to complete work Business needs and requirements, costs and benefits analysis as well as costs, tasks, deliverables, and schedule are included in the startup. Similarly, the mobilization and engineering stage include the deployment of the construction and engineering resources that are required to construct the Mega shopping Mall. The maintenance stage involves the actual renovation of the mall and subsequent closing with evaluation procedures. ## Coordinating people and resources The coordination of the people, resources and the activities are very important if we want to achieve the project deliverables. The coordination of the people, resources and the activities is very important as we have mentioned that when the work will be in process at that time the Coordinating part will be really important as ne part is been completed then the second is started and the third is followed by it. This is a chain and that needs to be looked into each other. The project manager will be doing the coordination in between all the managers so that everything could be coordinated and there would be no lags in the operations of the project. ## Integrating activities All the activities should be linked together so that there would be no lag remained. The activities will be overlooked by the mangers, which have been hired. It will be in the noticed that once the activity is finished there should be no lag in that and on the same time the other labor should start his work. The managers will be responsible for the integration and the coordination of the activities. ## Deliverables There will be couple of deliverables, which needs to be seen at the end of the project, which consists of finished and good renovated shops. Stalls should be properly maintained, floors, elevators and they security systems must be in running state, the restaurants, shops and cinemas are in good condition. The paint, woodwork and the electric appliances should be in working condition. All the electric systems should be working well and would be no other issues that could be seen in the future. # Monitoring and controlling stage Monitoring and controlling project work execution taken place for the demonstration of scheduling and outcome results. Here we will look on the deliverables that are they up to mark or they need any kind or reconsideration. ## Measuring activities There are different activities going on in the single project, each one of that needs to be monitored well so that there would be no lags remained in the project. There will be a strict control on the labor and the managers so that they would do their work on the time. ## Monitor project variables (Now, then) Here we need to check that status of the deliverables. There were few things which were been said that these need to be done. It means that the deliverables which need to be completed in the state which have been good. Now in the monitoring part it needs to be checked that all the deliverables are up to the mark as it was expected or there are some problems in the work. From 0 – 100 all the deliverables must be fully accurate and if it is so then they are passed otherwise they need to be checked again. ## Problem identification and getting back A strong check and balance system will be there to measure and ensure that all deliverables are up to the mark. The one, which are passed and are of good quality they, will be passed and the project on the specific context will end. However if there will be some deliverables which had been checked and they are not up to the mark then they will be moved again to the execution process and it will be done again. Then again, it needs to pass through monitoring phase until the deliverables are up to the mark and they are passed. # Closing stage After the controlling actions, the project phase would be closes adequately. In this stage all, the deliverables are accepted and they have passed through all the processes such as planning executing and monitoring. ## Activities in process groups In this stage all, the deliverables are in its closing phase the planning, execution and the monitoring have been done. All the deliverables have been passed and which means that the quality is good and it should be passed. Here it is seen that scope which we have been set in the beginning that have been achieved. Further, the time, which we have set of six months, the project have been completed within that in 5 months and 6 days. However if we look at the cost the estimation which was expected we have also meet the deadlines and we have save$22,000 from our estimated costs.

## The Role of Financial Information in Contracting

Q1.

For the purpose of incentive compensation, there are basically two advantages of using EVA i.e. economic value adding as compared to the traditional use of GAAP earnings. We know that the Whole Food Market computes the EVA performance metric as equal to the NOI i.e. net operating profits after taxes less a charge for considering the cost of capital required to generate these profits.

The major difference in the GAAP earning and EVA as a performance metric is the non-operating losses and gains which is considered in the GAAP earnings, however it is not recognized in the EVA as it realizes the operating net profits. This reduces and completely erases the noise created by the non-operatingprofits and losses in the performance metrics, and hence make sure that the managers have their focus on generating operating profits for their performance building.

Moreover, another major difference is the realization of the cost of capital in the Eva based performance metric. It is important in this sense, that a regional manager, whose compensation is linked with the GAAP earnings, can increase its compensation through the increased earnings, or through reducing the operating costs, and by opening new stores. However, the opening of new store causes to incur cost of capital. However, the GAAP earnings does not realizes this part of the cost, i.e. the cost of capital, which has been incurred to increase the earnings. Moreover, it is necessary to note that the earnings would only be profitable if it is greater than the cost incurred to generate it. Therefore the realization of a charge of the cost of capital in the EVA is very practical and makes the store managers consider the cost as well while taking decisions.(VENANZI, 2011)

Q2.

The Whole Food Market has mentioned in its proxy statement of 2014 that the stock prices are not being used as a factor in the annual cash compensation because of the reason that the fluctuations in the stock prices is not necessarily due to the performance of the executive officers, and there are various factors based on which the prices of the stock depends, which is necessarily not in the control of the executive officers. There are also other ways of encouraging executives for increasing shareholder value other than the annual compensation. It may include the mechanism of the stock grants, and stock options, where by one executive is made the shareholder of the company. As shareholder of the same company, the stock grants and stock options encourages the executives to work for increasing their shareholder, value and their interest are thus aligned with the interest of the shareholders.

Q3.

At the Whole Foods Market, the EVA Economic Value Added measure, as mentioned above is based on the operating income or the operating earnings of the company. This provides the managers to use accounting tricks to increase the earnings part of the EVA. In many other firms, it is a common practice to erase the use of many of the accounting heads like liquidation profits, LIFO, and discretion of management over the bad debts which may distort the EVA computation. This type of adjustments make it less likely for the use of accounting tricks for the boosting of the earnings and consequently the bonuses.

Q4.

The EVA bonus of the annual basis for a specific team is at first deposited in a pool, and after that a portion or part of that pool balance is paid to the executive on annual basis. The amount of the payout portion is dependent on the hundred percent of the pool up to the specified dollar amounts for a certain job, and a part of the excess. If it is the case the team member cash compensation is greater than the salary cap because of the payout amount of the team member, the excess amount above the salary cap is fortified however, the full payout amount is deducted from the pool. This is no doubt a complicated process, but its intention is to balance the payouts of the incentive compensation and the salary cap of the company.

For understanding the use of the EVA bonus pool for overcoming the tendency of the management to only focus on the short term, we can take an example of a certain manager. Assuming that the manager can boost its EVA by $100,000 through the cost cutting on the expense of advertising, the bonus for the manager will be$20000. However, only a portion of this EVA pool that is $5000 will be paid to him in that year. The remaining part of the payout pool is left for the possible payout in the next year that is$15000. The advertising expense cut down can affect the future earnings, and hence the future Eva of the company, and therefore affecting the bonus award as well. The remaining pool balance of the manager is at risk if the Eva balance is below the target point, therefore causing the managers to not take decisions, which are of only short term benefits, and may hurt the company in future.

Q5.

The use of the weighted average of the six performance metrics in place of a single metric will encourage the managers to not fall behind in any of the factors that is important for the company and the shareholders of the company. This weighted average of the performance metrics allows the firm to assign the appropriate portion for the relevant performance metric that are important for the firm and its shareholders. Moreover, the managers would not be only focusing on a single factor, like increasing earnings and not focusing on the capital expenditures that may result because of the increased earnings. This mechanism ensures that the managers and executives focuses and works while keeping in mind all the important factors of the performance metrics that are designed as per the requirement of the firm and shareholder’s interest to keep guard on the interests, and profits of the company and the shareholders.

## Ethical Theory

U6D1 Ethical Theory

Unit 6, Discussion 1: In this course you have encountered many different systems of ethical theory, from the secular to the religious. Explain which ethical theory most closely fits your own personal view of ethics, and why. Summarize the essential ethical norms that you derive from that ethical theory.

Discussion

The ethical theory that most closely fits my own personal view of ethics is the duty theory or the deontology theory. As ethical decision-making in terms of the accounting process is concerned, the position that the auditor would take in making the critical decision would depend on the position of the obligation that would judge the state of the ethical considerations adherence towards the required moral actions. For example, the rules that are applied according to the ethical standards would make me report the person in authority if any would do unethical work while not remain blind from my position. The actions are not significant according to this theory of duty or the obligation whereas the consequences are most important which would decide the positive or the negative outcome. The duty theory must not be confused with the obligation in terms of the knowledge of the right deeds or wrong deeds. Let us suppose that my friend knows about the manufacturing company is using the unethical or wrong processes, but he does not execute the duty or obligation theory of moral practices to whistle blow. The duty theory is actually the implementation of the obligation against all the unethical practices as a part of the philosophical concepts along with the cultural thought process. The professional approach must take into the context in terms of the deontic authority especially the interaction of the employer with the employees is the best example in this regard.

1. George Lois feels advertising should be like poison gas.  What does he mean by that?

1.  What was special about the Crocker Bank ads?  What was the result?

The thing or element that makes the Crocker Bank ads very special is that the slogan of the organization was expressed from the very famous Paul Williams in which he said that a kind of thing that we have just only started. The result was a phenomenal accomplishment in the shape of the wells Fargo and this would use lately as a benchmark or references in the occasions of the wedding events or ceremonies.

1.  Why was the MTV campaign so successful?

The MTV campaign was found to be very successful since the execution technique of marketing regarofding promotion or advertisement targeting the audiences of the young age. The most important or the key factor that made the campaign of the MTV very successful was the slogan used by the management especially the marketing department of the MTV was the use of slogan regarding its designing which had a strong influence over the target young generation audiences.

1.  What was Tommy Hilfiger able to do and how did he accomplish it?

Tommy Hilfiger was not successful when it stepped into the industry of fashion while knowing in the very early stages about the difficulties the company would have as integration into the industry. Therefore, the Tommy Hilfiger wisely adopted the advertisement strategy using the dynamic channel of the MTV in which they target the younger generation that proved to be very useful for their business growth.

1.  Where did the idea from Nike’s “Just Do It” campaign come from?

The idea of Nike’s campaign of the ‘Just Do It’ which became very famous among the target audiences comes from the person names as Gary Gilmore which was eventually killed by the security or law enforcement agency as a squad of firing because of the under case ion him. The last words that he spoke are like the same as Nike used in its campaign ‘Just Do It’ for capturing the target audiences.

1. According the many of those interviewed, what is the purpose of advertising?

The core purpose or the objective behind the advertisement as according to the majority of people interviewed is the promotion of products which are new into the marketplace, the core services that would develop using the innovative ways as well as the creativity in products or services is driven through the advertisement. This makes the target customers interested in the advertisement from the promotional campaigns the companies implement.

1.  Which television ad discussed in this documentary was very successful but did not even show the product?

The ad displayed on the television was the diamonds as their core relationship with the ceremonies of the wedding and was shown in the video of documentary as well, but the audience did not get the exact idea of the advertisement. The way the connection of the diamonds shows with the wedding occasions in a dynamic manner that were sued as a source for attracting the customers is analyzed.

1. Why did the proposal of the “Got Milk” campaign meet resistance?

There was a resistance to the campaign for the ‘Got Milk’ because the farmers were not satisfied through the promotional campaign and they did not use the milk in that specific manners displayed in the images, contents of the advertisement. The farmers used their method of using the milk, not that which was illustrated in the advertisement.

1.  What did most of the successful advertisement developers have in common?

Why is this so important in advertising?

The common thing that was found in those advertisement developers was that the happiness could easily link or demonstrating products or services using the attitude of simplicity from companies with the effective exhibition and display of the advertisement using the various channels. Therefore it is very important in the advertisement that the product is integrated with an advertisement in a way that spreads happiness while suing simple techniques or processes.

## Health Care Workforce/Personnel

Health Care Workforce/Personnel

Health care financing:

This is the moral and ethical responsibility of the doctors and health care providers to provide services for those they are medically deserved. These doctors and practitioners have acquired education and medical degrees and certificates from the medical educational institutions. It is to be noted that majority of the schools of medicine as well as dentistry and the findings and the grants. Moreover, nursing as well as teaching hospitals are also provided with the level of grants. These funding and grants for the medical institutions are heavily subsidized and granted by the provision of the federal and state funds that are available for such institutions.  Therefore, the medical professionals that have got education form these institutions, must have the obligation to pay back the taxpayers in terms of fulfilling their medical needs. They must know that the government has invested on them in terms of medical grants and they have to pay back in that regard.

The cross training is an important technique that is quite useful for the empowerment of medical staff. Through this technique, the medical personnel will be in position to perform multiple tasks. They will be in position to have less reliance on other personnel in medical treatments. The less dependency on medical staff is an important factor that will speed up the medical procedures and will improve the time efficient in medical treatment. The medical personnel will be in position to perform multiple medical tasks with limited support.

The profession of nursing is associated with the females. They are considered as more hospitalized as compare to the males. Moreover, it is considered taboo to become male nurse in some of the societies. It is considered that the occupation of nursing is strongly associated with the females and they can handle the profession more appropriately.

Health care financing:

The health insurance industry = Extra expenses on
Advances in medical care technology = Expensive technology and its use and maintenance
Changes in U.S. demographics = Increase in population and per head medical expenditure
Government support for health care = Expense on GDP for health care
Consumer expectations = Demand for expensive and advanced medical procedures

I don’t think both approaches are right. This is not right to necessarily leave some of the people who are not in position to get treated. The government must try their level best to provide health care to all of the people. Secondly, individual approach is also against the humanity. This means that those people who are in position to pay off the medical expenses are provided with the medical treatment the rest of the people will leave behind.

Disease management program is affective for the empowerment of the patients to fight with the disease by themselves. However, the negative side is the focus on particular group of patients in that realm.

## The venin Equivalents and Max Power Transfer

Abstract

The present lab report is based upon the venin Equivalents and Max Power Transfer. The objectives of the report are to describe and explain the venin Equivalents and Max Power Transfer. It is important to fully describe such functions.  Moreover, the lab report is also designed to make simplify and verify the circuit network that is quite necessary to make identification to the level of the venin equivalent. In addition, it is also important that the maximum level of power transfer is also needed to investigate. The result of the lab reports are important and show that the venin equivalent circuits are necessary to close. It is enough to the original level that is equal to the level of 470 Ω. Moreover, the maximization of the power is dependent on the completion of the circuit in an effective manner.

Introduction

The present lab report is designed to describe the venin Equivalents and Max Power Transfer. Moreover, the simplification and verification of the circuit network is necessary to identify to the venin equivalent. In addition, the maximum level of power transfer was also identified.  The venin theorem is applied on the DC resistive circuits. The theorem holds that the linear electronic network with the help of the voltage as well as the current sources is important and the level of resistance can be replaced with the equivalent voltage source. To fulfill such objectives, the lab experiment was designed.

The material for the experiment includes three types of the resistors. First resister is 1 of 470 Ω. The second resister is of 2 of 1k Ω and the last one is 2 of 2k Ω.  One potential meter is also required which is equal to 2k Ω with screw drive. In addition, the banana to alligator clip test cables is also essential. Two pairs are required in that regard. Moreover, cadet breadboard is also necessary in that realm. This is the complete and essential list of material required to complete the experiment.

First the actual resistor resistance was measured and then circuit was building on the banana board. After that open circuit voltage across terminal AB was measured and short circuit that pass through the terminal AB. The calculation of the venin equivalent residence was also evaluated. Voltage across the board and resistant terminal was also calculated. The result of the report shows that the venin equivalent circuits are close enough to the original level of 470 Ω. Moreover, the maximization of the power is dependent on the completion of the circuit in an effective manner.                                                Rth

The remaining section of the report is conclusion that will elaborate the conclusive remarks that will be drawn upon the results that were presented in the experiment. This section will state whether the desired level of results are maintained or not.

Conclusion

It can be concluded that the lab report provides sufficient results in that regard. The result of the report explains that the circuits are related to the original level of current that is equivalent to 470 Ω. Besides that, the maximization of the range of the power is also dependent and that is required to the completion of the circuit in an effective manner. The results are related to the observed number of the reading that is required. The level of the current in the circuit is up to the minimum level of the current that is required in order to complete the circuit with 470 Ω. Moreover, Voltage across the board and resistant terminal was also up to the desired level and the circuit is essential to produce the same level of electricity that is equal to keep flow the current.

# Introduction

Discussing the marketing we come to know that marketing is the operation in which we actually attract the customers and try to retain them as well. If we look around us we come to know that all over the world every company is doing marketing. The marketing department is one of the most important things in here and it needs to be taken care of. The information kept in the marketing is very important and useful in every aspect as well.

Here we come to know that there are many management concepts that need to be discussed in here. If we look into the detail, then we come to know that when the earth evaluates at that time and after that people come to know that there are some products which everyone wants. This was the time when someone from them made the products so what they did is what need in the market was and they just sell that. After that, there comes a concept for the customization, in which the customers demanded the products in the way they want. However, right now the thing, which needs to be focused, is that the marketing concept came and in here the manufacturer itself need to market the product, tell people about the importance or the benefits and in this way attracts the customer so that the sales could be increased of the company and they could progress (Brien and Stafford, 2010).

However, in this paper, I will go to discuss the marketing information systems that what are they and what was the reason and it was introduced by the time. However, the state of equilibrium needs to be achieved as well by marketing. In the following paragraphs, the details of the MIS as how equilibrium is achieved have been discussed in detail.

## Marketing Concept

Here we will come to know that the marketing concept is one of the most important things, which needs to be seen in here. If we look into the topic then there are the couple of confusions that needs to be discussed before. Looking at the MIS, it stands for marketing information system this needs to be understood. However, it needs to be looked that actually it is the person or anything, which helps in the analysis or the presenting of the marketing data at any platform in the world. The important thing to focus in here is that the MIS actually are the tools that are helpful for the marketers in the marketing or collecting the data so that it could be saved and in near future that can be used in the market (Miller, 2011).

The marketing concept in here, we come to know that marketing is so important and to increase the efficiency of the decision makers or the management the MIS is used in here. The marketing concepts and theories have become the large part of today’s world.  In the new world, it is the fact that no one could become successful in any kind of business without an effective marketing and marketing plans.   According to Philip Kotler, he has described as the people, equipment, tools that are helpful in the effective decision making by managing, storing or analyzing the data effectively together. However if there would be good decisions in accordance with the MIS, the equilibrium will be automatically be achieved in here.

## Pros& Cons of MIS tool

Looking at the Nature and pros& cons of MIS tool, we come to know that there are many advantages and on the same time, there are disadvantages as well. Looking at a couple of MIS tools we come to know that online database is one of the examples. Further, the WebPages, ERP, EDI, Big data and others are good examples of the Marketing information system. There are some of the inconsistencies can also be seen in here, on the other hand, there are advantages as well. The tool could be very fast as compared to the human brain. On the other hand, it is the fact that online marketing and marketing through the online structure and market is quite effective in the modern world.

Another thing, which can be seen, is that the storage problem is over in this case and it is an important thing as well. The accuracy of the data is also an advantage of the MIS. However, there are the couple of disadvantages of MIS which can be It can be seen that the electronic device could be inconsistency as it is the machine and the technical fault can occur at any time. The response rate could be low at their also which needs to be fixed as well (Marshall, 1996).

## State of equilibrium

Now looking at the state of equilibrium we come to know that there needs to be a fair thing in between the cost of the market and the quantity. The price- quality, the cost- quantity and other equilibriums need to be checked in this context so that the equilibrium could be achieved. However, it can be seen that the MIS is a tool, which actually helps the marketers in achieving the equilibrium so that they could grow, and they could expand as well. As better decisions could be made in this regard, therefore, there would be no problems at all at any point of time. However, it can be seen that the MIS is a good tool and it can be used by the internal and the externally. On the other hand, the Marketing concepts have made things easier for all the tools and technologies of the MIS. Looking at it, we come to know that the internal factors actually include the internal departments of the company that is including in the company. However, there is a very useful application of MIS overall.

## Discussion

Here we can see that the marketing concepts have been discussed in the above paragraphs that how marketing actually came into existence and we can also see that what was the need and want of the marketers in the passage as well. However, it can be seen that only marketing concepts cannot do anything. They need the MIS tools so that the proper management could be seen in here. The MIS tools are quite effective in any region and section of the marketing and marketing field.

The MIS tools actually help humans so that the data could be stored, managed and analyzed in a good way so that the decisions for the businesses could be taken in a well and organized manner. Therefore, we can say that when marketing and the MIS are linked it moves towards the state of equilibrium that is achieved and the success is guaranteed. Here we can also see that with the help of marketing and MIS both, the decisions are made better, a better analysis could be seen and the ultimate goal, which is to achieve success, is achieved.

# Conclusion

If we conclude the discussion, we come to know that the importance of marketing concepts has been discussed. The correspondence with the marketing concepts that have been discussed in the essay and the MIS can be looked that both are important for the success of the state of equilibrium. Here we have seen that how the marketing concepts have started and got to a stage where a manufacturer needs to attract a person so that product could be sold. However, it can be seen that MIS tools are the important things that are included in the market. Without them, there was not a concept that equilibrium could be` achieved.

However, it can be seen that MIS is working all over the globe in the good companies and the reason is seen that the success is the vision, the state of equilibrium will be achieved only if the best of all will be in business. We can see that in the body Discussion have been given and it is stated in the detail that how the marketing concept and the MIS are important for the company. We can see that with the emergence of both the state of equilibrium can be achieved easily. This is the reason we can say that MIS is one of the most important tools in the marketing if any company wants to achieve the height of success.

Concluding all the discussing given here, I would like to say that in my opinion, the marketing concepts are the base points which needs to be considered at all times. Nevertheless, the MIS is the tool, which is used by the companies for the ease of success. Further, combining both we can say that the state of equilibrium is achieved and the heights of success are reached. The statement is hence proved that“the development of a fully integrated marketing information system (MIS) to effectively achieve a state of equilibrium”.

## Bond Duration Risk & Value Investing

Bond Duration Risk

Part 1

1. Definition of interest rate risk (Duration Risk) – Duration risk or interest rate risk influences the value of bonds greater as compared to the stocks and when the interest rates rise the bond prices fall and vice versa. It is a risk that the value of investment changes due to the variation in the absolute level of interest rates. This risk can be reduced with help of diversification or hedging as well (Lourosa, 2015).
2. How to hedge the risk? – Hedging is a technique which is used to reduce risk of the investment associated with adverse movement of price of an asset. Usually a hedge is based on taking offsetting position of a particular security like bond.

Part 2

Value investing is an investing strategy where those securities are chosen which are traded for less than their intrinsic values. The value investors look for securities that they think that have been undervalued. The Earning Power Value or EPV is a method to value securities through an assumption regarding their ability for sustained earnings. The formula for EPV is,

EPV = Adjusted Earnings / Cost of Capital

Franchise has a licensed relationship nature that exists between the franchisor and franchisee. Among our holdings is General Electric with cost of capital 6.58% and the total assets value $401.46 billion on June 30th 2016 while the net income is$8.03 billion.  Not putting the values into the formula will provide $8.03 billion / 6.58% =$126.1 billion. In other words GE earned $126.1 billion annually on an investment of$8.03 billion which means that the company has approximately 15% rate of return. The basic concept behind EPV is that the firm should value the stock as per the free cash flow and not on the predicted projections as these might come true or not. Here the assumption is the current profitability is sustainable.

## Database and Data Warehouse

1. What is a Relational Database? Explain also (1a) what are relational tables? (1b) the primary key? (1c) the foreign key? (1d) normalization? (1e) SQL query language?

Answer.           Relational database means a structured data organized in the form of “Tables” from where data can be accessed with information already stored. Table relationships are used to join tables when we need database object. Table relationship can match data in key columns. It matches the primary key in one table. In relational data, Primary key is always a unique key for example a telephone number or a green card number. The relational database can use only one unique primary key. A Foreign key is a key that refers to the Primary key in the first table and foreign itself is defined in the second table which contains one or a set of fields in a single table identifying the other table. Database normalization is the process of improving the integrity of data and reduction in redundancy of data and involved in organizing relations with columns.  SQL query language is a special language to manage, relate, modify and access data in data relationship. This language is to help to insert, delete, update, the data from a database.

• What are the major capabilities of Data Base Management System (DBMS)? And why is a Relational DBMS is the most prevalent type of database software in the business world?

Answer. Data Base Management System is based on four major points. These four types are Data Structure, Transaction mechanism, modeling language and database query. The capabilities of database management system are Replication and Backup of data, Computation of date, Query ability, Rule Enforcement and Security.

Replication and backup mean It creates a copy of attributes on a regular basis and in the case where disks are failed it provides the backup and replace the data. On the attributes there are some computations like cross referencing, grouping, summing, sorting, counting and averaging. Instead of implementing this from the beginning database management system is used to provide these calculations. Query ability is the ability to answer the questions asked by the person to the computer; DBMS is used to answer these questions and answer these very quickly. Rule enforcement is used in DBMS this is the main capability of the database management system. It helps businesses to provide them security and it is also less time-consuming software.

• What are data warehouses? What are Data Marts? How they different from databases?

Answer.     Database Warehouses is based on the capture the data from different sources to analyze and to access the data. Sometimes the end user needs to access the local or special database but it did not provide this facility to the end user. Two approaches are being used to access database warehousing. First, one is top down approach and the second one is bottom up approach. The first approach is used when the warehouse data is created and this is used for the users of specific groups this approach spins Data Mart for them. These are different from database management system as they use a specific server. Data is extracted selectively from the applications used and the online data transactions processing.

• What is Hadoop? What types of applications are suitable for Hadoop?

Answer.  Hadoop is used for running different applications on different hardware; Hadoop is used for storing data is a source that is open for the software framework. Hadoop provides a very big space to store the data of any kind. It can perform different numerous jobs and tasks at the same time. Hadoop can process and handle a large amount of data at the same time. Map Reduce programming is an application used for the Hadoop. That is an application which is used to tackle the problems of accessing the data. Applications that are used to access the data and can response the query of the user can be used in Hadoop. It can also support real-time ad-hoc of express and the data aggregation.

• We are in an era of big data. To extract Business Intelligence from big data, an array of tools are used today. Describe what are OLAP and Data Mining and what are the purposes of these tools.

Answer. OLAP is the abbreviation of Online analytic processing it is a processing of computers and laptops to extract and analyze the data to view it by the user. A multidimensional database is a place where the OLAP data is saved.  Whereas the Data mining is a discovering knowledge it is being used to analyze date and process the data for many reasons and make it a useful and understandable information for the user of this data. It is also considered as a tool to analyzes date for example to cut the cost of to increase the revenue of the company. It can find patterns and correlations from the different fields in the large relational database.

• Explain what are text mining and web mining? What are their benefits?

Answer. Text mining is based on text that is using words to insight the business, and it helps the business to grow well. Text mining can be through facebook or twitter or any other application and also through e.mails and text messages. Whereas the Web mining is used to look for the activities in the data. This search can be through usage mining, structure mining, and content mining.  Web mining is used to gather the data of users either through forms submitted by the user or data which is used during the web transactions. Text mining has many benefits that include the cost saving for the business or any activity for which the text mining has been performed. It is also beneficial for the innovation of new services for example for new medical treatment and the productivity gains. However, web mining is beneficial and a good source for the knowledge of students and business as well.

## Defining Single Molecular Forces Required to Activate Integrin and Notch Signaling

Defining Single Molecular Forces Required to Activate Integrin and Notch Signaling

Major research focus

The major research focus from authors Wang and Ha of this paper would be the interactions between the matrix of the cell and the cell-cell from the reactors of the various types of the membrane having the extensive sought of the range used to critically analyzing the functions of a cell. Orchestrate into the organisms is then analyzed while measuring the forces such as integrins in the development of the multi-cellular cells in the Tension Gauge Tether or TGT. The molecular forces as signaling rationale techniques that immobilized sources of channels as per the workable properties of DNA are monitored through the various ligands. The peak force or tension is then found to be the 40 pN and average force would be the 12 pN in the tunable forces of adhesions for the integrin bonding of the ligands. The TGT is then used for the cue of the mechanical functionalities in the cellular forces of molecular ways of regulation as per the various receptors integrate into the Notches of the immobilized or random manner of the surface using the engagement of the ligands receptors (Wang & Ha, 2013).

Summary

In this paper, we have analyzed the working or properties of the interactions of the matrix of the various cells and the combination with the cell-cell functions of the cellular orchestrate the range of the organisms. The bind forces in the ligand bond integrate with the receptors through using the approach of the rupturable receptors is sought out in this paper. The force of the dynamic ECM (Extra Cellular Matrix) in the lignads of the cells is analyzed through the properties of the mechanical bonding with the cells surrounded in neighbor organisms. The transmission of the forces of the mechanical intercellular interactions of the cells through the various pats in the regulating to the signals in the different directions for the processes of the adhesion is analyzed. In the small cells of the organisms proliferation through the migration strategy the core while signaling the peak tension or forces of 40 pN as tension for the growth receptors would be assist in the mechanism because the force would apply is analyzed in this paper. In the universal set of different peak range into the tunable site of tolerance strategy in the forces of tension ligands, the texture along with the framework of geometry for polarizing the mechanical properties of the cell-cell membrane of these sought of receptors (Wang & Ha, 2013).

The major experimental technique

The figure 1 describing the principle of tension Gauge Tether (TGT) the immobilized channels for the ligands in the recepetors of the membrane would apply the force at the through the rupture of the receptors of Ttol or tolerance of the tension. The properties of the DNA as it would be aligned with the TGT while exploiting the various characteristics of dsDNA while geometrical configurations rupturing the fo4ces of antibodies applied the pairs of DNAs of 21 in numbers so that antigen correlation to the bonding would obtain through the theoretical tension of 56 pN. The senses of the cells in the matrix of the cell from the receptors of the membrane as well as cell-cell for establishing the organisms in the analytical range of the multi-cellular membranes would apply the force of the ECM. The interactions of the forces in the mechanical characteristics or properties having the tension or force of peak range such as 40 pN would be addressed through using the strategy of the adhesion alignment. The stiffness in the membrane for the mechanic- sensors active as mechanical properties for the molecular tensions for tracking the approach of the signals of the fluorescent in the TGT. The platform used in the forces of the molecular range in the single molecular density of the ligands would measure through the independent set of the TGT as rupture tension of average force of 12 pN (Wang & Ha, 2013).

The adhesion characteristics of the cell membrane in the matrix-cell for the TGT is channelized through the density of the multi-molecular tensions of the 54-56 pN using the RGDfk in the adhesion cells of the white cells as dots or also called as CHO-K1 indicating the values. The adhesions in the cells for the young stages or phases forming the Bovine Serum Albumin or BVM  in the DNA of the CHO-K1 membrane for fibronectin cells. The NOTCH1 that indicate the fluorescence of the H2B-YFP would cleave as the mutual unit in the configuration of the DNA. The conjugate was complementary incubated in the surface of the activation for the Notch that requires exerting no more tension such as the average force of 132 pN.

The tethers of 50 Ttol would apply at the level of the 53 pN for the exhibition of the fluorescence of the nuclear stemming in the cues of the mechanical properties as demonstrating the characteristics of behaviors of the cell-cell using the micro-level approach to learning the stiffness in the cell. The configuration in the regions of the Ttol for research in the integrin of the αVβ3 as well as observing the tension ranges from average to peak as 40, 43 and Ttol of 56 pN.

Contrary to popular belief, Ms. Sue, some kids do study and still need help with tests. Speaking from experience, as I have stayed up for hours upon hours trying to take in chapters upon chapters of dumb history I’ll never need to know!

Ash, if you did study and you still cannot understand, may I suggest a tutor? Ms. Sue is a very discouraging person, and she is a terrible teacher from what I can tell. If you ever do need help with something, do not be afraid to ask someone who will actually help you.

And Ms. Sue. You absolutely suck. Your attitude towards students is cruel, and discouraging. You seem to lack empathy, and apathy. Ash simply needed help to find the answers, and you as a teacher have failed to do that. For someone who is most likely very much older than us all, you have the mentality, Mannerisms, and politeness of a child. Do us all a favor and grow the heck up. Because, despite your advantage of so many more years on this planet than us, you have failed to do so.

Find the sum of the interior angles of a nonagon. (1 point)

140°
1,620°
1,260°
1,450°

When you walk all the way around a figure with straight sides clockwise you turn 360 degrees. Ech of your right turns is 180 – interior angle there

in this case 9 * right turn angle = 360
right turn angle = 40
so each interior angle is 180 – 40 = 140
9* 140 = 1260

4.
Same deal for the next one
360/ 12 = 30
180 – 30 = 150 = interior angle

5.
each exterior angle = 180 – angle
180 – 85 = 95
180 – 110 = 70
180 – 135 = 45
180 – 45 = 85
then we have (180-x)
95+70+45+85 +180 – x = 360
475 – x = 360
x = 115

Balance each of the following redox reactions occurring in acidic solution

b) S2O32-+ Cl2 —> SO42-+Cl-

You need to know and understand how to do these yourself. So rather than give you the balanced equations, I will tell you that
a)S changes oxidation state from +4 on the left to +6 on the right. Mn changes its oxidation state from +7 on the elft to +2 on the right.

b)S changes oxidation state from 2 (for each S) on the left to +6 on the right.
Cl changes from zero on the left to -1 on the right.

If this doesn’t help all that much, tell me what you don’t understand about how to balance redox equation.

Here is a method I use.
SO3^- ==> SO4^-2

1. S changes from +4 to 6. Add electrons to the appropriate side (right for this one) to balance the change in oxidation state.
2. SO3^-2 ==> SO4^-2 + 2e
3. Now count the charge on each side. The left is -2 and the right is -4; therefore, add
(a) H^+ to balance the charge if it is acid solution or
(b)OH^- to balance the charge if it is basic or neutral solution.
This is acid so we add 2H^+ to balance the charge.
4. SO3^-2 ==> SO4^-2 + 2e + 2H^+
5. Now add water (usually to the opposide side) to balance the H atoms. Oxygen SHOULD balance at that point.
H2O + SO3^-2 ==> SO4^-2 + 2e + 2H^+

For the Mn, without all the explaining, but I’ll follow the same format.

MnO4^- ==> Mn^+2
Mn goes from 7 to 2; therefore, add 5e to the left side.
MnO4^- + 5e ==> Mn^+2

Charge is -6 on the left, +2 on the right, add 8H^+ on the left to balance the charge.
8H^+ + 5e + MnO4^- ==>Mn^+2

Now add 4H2O to the right to balance the H atoms
8H^+ + 5e + MnO4^- ==> Mn^+2 + 4H2O

## phosphoric acid is a triprotic acid with the following pka values

Phosphoric acid is a triprotic acid with the following pKa values:

pka1: 2.148 pka2: 7.198 pka3: 12.375

You wish to prepare 1.000 L of a 0.0100 M phosphate buffer at pH 7.45. To do this, you choose to use mix the two salt forms involved in the second ionization, NaH2PO4 and Na2HPO4, in a 1.000 L volumetric flask and add water to the mark. What mass of each salt will you add to the mixture?

?? grams NaH2PO4
?? grams Na2HPO4

Hint: Use the Henderson-Hasselbalch equation to get the molar ratio of Na2HPO4 to NaH2PO4 required, then the fraction of each form from the ratio. The total moles needed will be 1.000 L × 0.0100 M = 0.0100 moles. Use the formula mass to calculate the mass needed. (FM NaH2PO4 = 119.98; FM Na2HPO4 = 141.96).

I am completely lost on how to solve this problem.

0 0 413
Feb 22, 2013
pH=pka+log({A-]/[HA])

pH=7.45
pka=12.375

Solve for ratio:

10^(7.45-12.375)={A-]/[HA]=1.19×10^-5

Since you have a total of 0.01 moles,

1.19×10^-5*(0.01moles)= moles of Na2HPO4

0.01 moles-moles of Na2HPO4= moles of NaH2PO4

Use the formula weights to solve for the number for each that Dr. Bob222 gave you.

**** Not sure about that pKa value that I chose.

The correct pKa value to choose is pK2.

Use the HH equation to solve for the ratio base/acid.
One equation you need is base/acid.
The other equation you need is
base + acid = 0.01
That two equations in two unknowns; solve for acid concn and base concn and convert to grams. Post your work if you gets stuck.

After you get the ratio. From the
0.01 moles-moles of Na2HPO4= moles of NaH2PO4
=> (0.01 – Na2HPO4)/(Na2HPO4) = (ratio of pka2 from hasselbalch)
unit will be mol, convert to g
