The war between Germany and the allies formally ended with the what?

[ad_1]

The correct answer is C.

Publishing a newspaper editorial that criticizes the country’s leaders would be strictly prohibited in Nazi Germany because of the censorship.

Censorship ensured that Germans could only see and hear what the Nazis wanted them to read to and to see, in other words, people were brainwashed into obeying the Nazis and idolizing Hitler.

All media were under such control and scrutiny that only the ideas and values of the Nazis were heard and seen by the masses. All aspects of media, culture and the arts were censored and used for the Nazi propaganda.

The Minister of Propaganda, Joseph Goebbels, made sure that newspapers could only print stories favorable to and approved by the Nazis. Any kind of anti-Nazi critic was dealt with immediately and the author killed or put into a concentration camp.

Karl Marx developed the economic theory of communism.

Further Explanation:

One of Karl Marx’s most famous contributions came in his book the Communist Manifesto. This book explained Mark’s views on government, the economy, and ultimately lead to the creation of communism as an idea.

A communism system is one that is economic and political in nature. In this system, the government would control the means of production, the distribution of goods and resources, and would overall have significant control over society. This system of communism is the opposite of the capitalist/democratic system used in America today. These two ideologies would clash during the mid 20th century in what is now known as the Cold War.

Marx’s ideas were based on his observations of the world around him. He felt that the mistreatment of labor by industry and private corporations would ultimately lead to an uprising by angry laborers all over the world.

How did the Destroyers for bases agreement President Roosevelt signed help Britain and its allies

[ad_1]

1- The correct answer is B, as one result of the Great Society was that the lives of many underprivileged Americans improved.

The Great Society was a set of US national reform programs announced by President Lyndon B. Johnson for the first time in a speech at Ohio University on May 7, 1964 and more fully illustrated on May 22, 1964 at the University of Michigan. These reform programs were subsequently presented to the Congress of the United States and largely approved during the 1960s, thanks to the consent of its supporters of the Democratic Party.

Two main goals of social reforms were the elimination of poverty and racial injustice. During this period new large spending programs were launched in the fields of education, medical care, urban problems and transport. Johnson’s “Great Society” was linked, in its objectives and policies, to President Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s New Deal program.

Some proposals of the Great Society resumed initiatives contained in the New Frontier program, interrupted by the tragic death of President John F. Kennedy. Johnson’s success in promoting and endorsing his reforms depended on his considerable congressional political influence, his persuasion, and the favorable historical circumstances resulting from the 1964 presidential elections, which allowed the Democratic Party to dominate Congress and to elect the House of Representatives with the largest number of exponents of the liberal current since 1938.

The evolution of the Vietnam war and the massive involvement of the American military machine in the conflict, however, partly undermined the success of the “Great Society” program. Growing, huge expenditures for the continuation of the war made more difficult to finance the reform programs. Representatives of the Democratic Party against the war in Vietnam complained that military spending decisively stifled the Great Society program. On the whole, however, despite growing political and economic difficulties, which forced the administration to eliminate or reduce the financing of some projects, President Johnson managed to activate a series of programs of great importance, including Medicare, Medicaid, the Older Americans Act and the federal education funding, which are still active.

2- The correct answer is C, as the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965 was necessary because the previous existing American immigration policies were discriminatory.

On October 3, 1965, President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the law into effect, saying: “The [old] system violates the basic principle of American democracy, the principle according to which the valuation and reward of each man should be established on the basis of his merits as a man. It has been anti-American in the highest sense, because it has been unfaithful to the faith that led thousands to these shores, even before we were a country. ”

Answer:

Noninvolvement in world affairs is termed “isolationism”.

Explanation:

Isolationism is a concept that designates a political inclination that defends the isolation and nonintervention of a country in international conjunctural issues. That is, putting it in simpler terms, isolationism proposes that a country does not intervene in any way in an external conflict that afflicts another nation or group of nations so that it does not end up affecting their interests.

Basically, isolationism causes that the country that adopts this position is totally isolated from everything that happens in the rest of the world so that nothing affects it in its possible benefits.

[ad_1]

Answer:  NATO’s original purpose was to serve as an alliance for defense against the Soviet-led communist block of countries.

Details:

After World War II, as the Cold War began, the the Soviet Union had shown that it wanted to expand its area of control in Eastern Europe.  In response, the United States, along with Canada, joined with ten European countries in signing the North Atlantic Treaty in 1949.  This created the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), which was a defensive military alliance of democratic states over against the expanding threat of communism felt in the Cold War environment.  The ten original Western European members of NATO were the United Kingdom, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, Portugal, Italy, Iceland, and Luxembourg.

The formation of the Warsaw Pact was in direct response to the formation of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). The Warsaw Pact was given that name because the agreement was signed in Warsaw, Poland.  Established in 1955, the Warsaw Pact included the Soviet Union, Albania, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, East Germany, Hungary, Poland, and Romania.  The nations signing the treaty called on each other to defend of any member of the Pact that was threatened by enemy forces.

The correct answer is B. It kept African Americans from exercising their rights.

The Ku Klux Klan is an organization created after the American Civil War by veterans of the Confederation as a reaction to the situation of its people, their first activities focused on creating a social circle in which they could have a fun time, in some cases they mocked the former black slaves. However, during the reconstruction period, their actions became harsher and more threatening to the abolitionist whites who moved south during the war, also known as the baggers, or to the southern Republicans who called themselves scalawags , but the most affected were the new freed African slaves, who were cruelly mistreated by members of the Ku Klux Klan that limit the exercise of their rights as free people, the irruption they made in their homes to rob and take away the weapons of the black veterans of the war, obstructing the reconstruction of the country given that they continued to act under the idea of slavery. So, the correct answer is B. It kept African Americans from exercising their rights.

Permit me to say a bit more about John Locke, the philosopher — as important background to the American Revolution.

The American founding fathers read Locke (as well as other Enlightenment writers).  The American Revolution (1775-1783) was inspired by ideas such as those of Locke.  John Locke (1632-1704) argued for the idea of a “social contract.”  According to his view, a government’s power to govern comes from the consent of the people themselves — those who are to be governed.  This was a change from the previous ideas of “divine right monarchy” — that a king ruled because God appointed him to be the ruler.  Locke repudiated the views of divine right monarchy in his First Treatise on Civil Government.  In his Second Treatise on Civil Government, Locke argued for the rights of the people to create their own governments according to their own desires and for the sake of protecting their own life, liberty, and property.

Which of President Johnson’s actions led directly to his impeachment by Congress?

Answer:

He fired the Secretary of War in violation of the Tenure of Office Act.

Explanation:

Republican radical lawmakers twice tried the Supreme Court to intervene against President Andrew Johnson. Unable to succeed in these attempts, the same deputies found in the 1867 Tenure of Office Act, the prerogative to open a process of impeachment against Andrew Johnson in 1868. With only one year in force, that law provided that the president of the Republic could dismiss its secretaries of State without the Congress authorization.

On August 12, 1867, Jonhson had not observed the Tenure of Office Act and had removed the Secretary of War (named for Lincoln) Edwin Stanton. Stanton was allied with the radicals. His departure was the breach used for the impeachment process to begin.

How did the second continental congress influence the conflict between the colonists and britain?

The Second Continental Congress was the second meeting of the colonies’ delegates in Philadelphia on May 10, 1775. The delegates, including George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, and John Adams, were elected in part by colonial assemblies and in part by the provincial congresses that had sprung up to replace those rebellious legislatures dissolved by royal governors. The Congress commissioned Washington to organize a continental army and assume responsibility for the siege of Boston. It formulated regulations for the conduct
for trade; issued paper money; and sent emissaries abroad to negotiate with foreign powers for financial, diplomatic, and military assistance. Most of the delegates, including Washington , still hoped for reconciliation with Britain, but by the end of 1775 this possibility had faded. In August the British monarch had issued a proclamation ” for suppressing rebellion and sedition ” in the colonies and in September had hired 20,000 Hessians. Two days later Congress approved a formal Declaration of Independence. It caused war against Britain.

The location o the Ottoman Empire had an impact on the

The Ottoman Empire dominated trade routes between Europe/the Mediterranean and Asia. It had a virtual monopoly over these trade routes from the early 1400s through the early 1500s. However, by 1500 European ships had become ocean-worthy and sailors (beginning with da Gama) found the sea route to Asia around the southern cape of Africa. Though the land route to Asia through Ottoman territory was shorter and more direct, the ocean route around Africa could be faster and was not vulnerable to blockade by the Turks. The Ottoman Empire gradually lost some of its wealth due to the shifting trade, but it remained the singlest greatest power in Eastern Europe and the Eastern Mediterranean until the late 1600s.

So, the most important impact of the Ottoman Empire on global trade was that its power in the 1400s and 1500s forced European nations to invest in ocean-going navigation and exploration in order to sail to Asia rather than go through Ottoman land routes.
