Describe an example where humans commercially utilize anaerobic respiration; be specific about the purpose, the organisms used and the products.

[ad_1]

Anaerobic respirations are typically used in fermentation processes.

Commercially, there is lactobacilli at work with production of
yogurt, kimchi, sauercrout, sour beer, and sour dough bread.

This latter have lactobacilli and yeast (Candida milleri) in the ratio of 100:1 in San Francisco’s sour dough bread, which makes it unique because different locations have different yeast species.

Then there is yeast at work in alcohol fermentation.
Example,  Saccharomyces cerevisiae is responsible for wine and ales.  It is also used in bread making (98% of the alcohol vaporizes during baking, only the CO2 produced is useful for making bread light and airy).
Note: for bread and wine making, different strains are used.

[ad_1]

Answered by answersmine AT 22/10/2019 – 02:38 AM

The independent variable would be the parameter that is not being studied in the experiment. It is the variable that is being varied or changed. The counterpart of this is called the dependent variable which would be the factors that are being studied. This variable is not controlled. It only changes value because it is affected by the change brought to the independent variable.

Answered by answersmine AT 22/10/2019 – 02:54 AM

You are given the time and speed so from there you can get the points (2,50) and (6,54) once you got that you can see how the slope is 1 and
b=48
x-y=-48 (standard form)

part B=
1    49
2    50
3    51
4    52

Describe how you would determine whether two lines are parallel by looking at the equations of the lines in standard form.

[ad_1]

Answer:

By comparing the slopes of both lines.

Step-by-step explanation:

The general form of a straight line is y = mx + c where m is the slope of the line and c is the y-intercept of the line.

For e.g. Consider, the lines y = 2x – 3 and y = 2x – 7.

Now, by comparing these lines with the general form, we get that both of them have slope 2.

Also, by the graph below it can be seen that they both are parallel.

So, it is clear that ‘The slopes of two parallel lines are same’.

Hence, by looking at the standard form of the equation and comparing the slopes, we can determine whether the lines are parallel or not.

The lithosphere is composed of rigid plates that “float” on top of the asthenosphere. The lithosphere is a solid wall around the asthenosphere, and they move as one unit. The asthenosphere is found in the Earth’s core and is protected by the lithosphere.

Asthenosphere, zone of Earth’s mantle lying beneath the lithosphere and believed to be much hotter and more fluid than the lithosphere. The asthenosphere extends from about 100 km (60 miles) to about 700 km (450 miles) below Earth’s surface. The asthenosphere is almost solid, although some of its regions could be molten. Both the lithosphere and asthenosphere make up the mantle. The answer is B. Hope this helps 🙂

Describe two ways he could change the metal physically and two ways he could change the metal chemically to try to identify it.

[ad_1]

Answered by answersmine AT 22/10/2019 – 03:18 AM

Physical change is a change that occurs in a substance that does not change the identity of the substance. It does not alter the chemical structure of the molecules ehile chemical change involves the breaking of the bonds in the substance forming new substance. To identify a metal physically, we can use properties like their boiling and melting points. We can determine at what temperatures these metals melt or boil then from literature we compare the values. Another properties that can be looked upon to are hardness, color and density. For chemical methods, we can allow it to react with substances, that will produce precipitates containing the metal in question. Also, we can use other methods like titration method. All chemical methods involves the use of chemical reactions.

[ad_1]

Answer: B. A quadrilateral that has diagonals that do not bisect each other.

Step-by-step explanation:

  • A parallelogram is a quadrilateral whose opposite sides are equal or congruent and parallel. Also, the opposite sides in parallelogram are equal or congruent and the sum of  two adjacent angles is 180 degrees. The diagonals of parallelogram bisect each other.
