This “new piece” of DNA usually contains a gene from another organism (plant, animal or other) that has been modified to be expressed in the new  organization. A transgenic organism may even possess the DNA of another organism of the same species. The inserted gene can be called the transgene.

________ may be lacking in the diet of strict vegetarians (vegans).

Answered by answersmine AT 22/10/2019 – 08:06 AM

Okay listen up people! I am vegan and if you go vegan, you will not lack anything! Most people believe that going vegan means you will be lacking in protein because of not eating meat but that’s not true. Many plants like avacadoes, beans, chickpeas, etc are very healthy sources of protein. Meat has protein in itself but it deteriorates the body. On the other hand, plant-based proteins are much healthier. So in other words, nothing is lacking when you go vegan and the benefits are priceless!

You are asked to write an article for the school newspaper about fad diets. Which of the following paragraphs would be the most factual? You should choose A for your answer. But I don’t really recommend this diet either because it doesn’t result in long-term weight loss, and it can be dangerous to your health. You are better off without it because even if you follow through with this diet you will not get the results you would like. I’m sure most people would want diets that have long-term results and not short-term results that can also be dangerous.

I hope this helps you! 😀

Compare energy provided to the body by carbohydrates, proteins, and fats

Carbohydrates (carbs) provide ready energy to the body, and it’s in its quickest useable form. Proteins has the same caloric content per mass as carbs, yet it is not as useable. It takes longer to break proteins down into amino acids then denitrate them into sugar components. Most amino acids we get from protein is used to build more protein for the body. Fats (lipids) pack over twice the amount of energy per mass as carbs, but they are more difficult to transport (because they resist water) and to convert to glucose, due to the long nature of fatty acid chains. But lipids are a fantastic way to store extra calories due to their light density.

Breast cancer develops as a result of the uncontrolled growth of abnormal breast cells. While healthy breast cells are able to continually renew themselves in an orderly fashion, abnormal cells may divide haphazardly, without control or order. The extra cells created can form malignant, or cancerous, tumors which, if left untreated, can spread to other parts of the body. There are many different types of breast cancer. The most common are invasive ductal cancer, which begins in the duct cells, and invasive lobular cancer, which begins in a lobule, where milk-producing glands are present. A patient facing a breast cancer concern likely has many questions. Choosing the right cancer center for consultation, diagnosis and support is the most important step toward achieving lasting, positive results.

Given the underground nature of trafficking, the consequences of trafficking are hidden and difficult to see. Trafficked persons often have limited access to basic necessities such as safety, food, sleep, hygiene, and medical care. The effects of trafficking vary depending on the type of trafficking and the specific situation.

Given that trafficking is based on the exploitation of individuals, all victims of trafficking may be subject to physical, psychological, and social impacts. Victims of trafficking often experience harsh physical impacts due to excessive work or the use of force by traffickers. In addition, victims may be exposed to serious health risks, such as HIV/AIDS, as well as serious mental health risks. Anxiety, insecurity, fear, and trauma are all products of trafficking. Several studies indicate high levels of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) in former trafficked persons. Trafficking can also lead to cognitive impairment, memory loss, depression, and even suicide.

Trafficked minors are all the more vulnerable due to their age. Trafficking may greatly impact children’s emotional, physical, and overall psychological development.

Trafficked persons may also experience social ostracism. Trafficked persons are often isolated from their social circles, leaving individuals unable to engage socially or reach out for help. Victims may also be trafficked internationally, and therefore may not be able to engage due to a lack of linguistic capability or geographic and cultural familiarity. Individuals specifically trafficked for sex have described facing stigma and other negative responses during and after their trafficking experience, especially from friends and family members.

Aside from the impact trafficking has on victims, it also substantially affects interstate and foreign commerce. Trafficking for such purposes as involuntary servitude, peonage, and other forms of forced labor has an impact on nationwide employment and the labor market. Despite being the second most profitable criminal activity, human trafficking impedes national and international economic growth.
