The Reformation actually started after Columbus’s landing in North America.

Treaty of Tordesillas in 1494 was forced on Spain and Portugal by the Pope. The Pope basically said that all lands in the New World belonged to Spain and all new non-Christian lands in the Eastern Hemisphere belong to Portugal. No other Catholic countries can do anything in those areas without the approval of the owner.

The pope basically drew two lines on the globe setting the border. The western line started at the north pole cut half way through Greenland and ended at the south pole. The new world was everything to the west. Problem is that it ran through a chunk of Brazil which is why Brazil is an ex-Portuguese colony.

The Eastern line starts at the North Pole runs through siberia, through the pacific just west of Japan, and cuts Australia in half. Of course, Australia hadn’t been discovered yet. Everything to the the east of this line is the new world.

Obviously, this treaty didn’t hold up well, but the reformation gave the protestant countries an excuse to explore the new world since they didn’t have to take orders from the Pope. Even so, France, a catholic country, ignored it too.

Really, the only country that was effected by the reformation in the exploration of the Americas was England. All the other countries, changed their religion once and then went to war with the nearest catholic country. Sweden became Lutheran and stayed that way. The Dutch Republic became Calvinists and stayed that way.

England kept switching. First it was Catholic. Then, Henry VIII made it protestant. Then, Henry’s daughter Mary I made it catholic again. Henry’s other daughter Elizabeth I (with the two hit movies) made it Protestant again.

Years latter, Oliver Cromwell over through the monarchy, executed the King Charles I, and established a Protestant fundamentalist religious military dictatorship. He outlawed drinking,smoking, gambling, theater, dirty books, sports, prostitution, and anything generally fun. He would have made Saudi Arabia proud. Basically, all you could do is work, pray, and die. Sex was allowed for creating children, but you couldn’t enjoy it.

When Cromwell died, the people of England said enough was enough and brought back the King. Charles II kicked out the fundamentalists and brought back drinking, smoking, gambling, dirty books, sports, prostitution, and having fun during sex. Incidentally, those were also all his hobbies.

This brings us to the famous Pilgrims. They were part of Cromwell’s crowd. They kept agitating a return to the no-fun policy. They annoyed everybody. They weren’t persecuted for practicing their religion, they were persecuted because they kept trying to force their religion on everyone else. Sort of like Southern Baptists.

Charles II was the most easy going monarch in British history. Do realize how annoying you have to be to get him to throw you out.

Charles’s brother James II was obsessed with turning Great Britain catholic again. After four years of trying, they kicked him and his followers out.

Will a quantity increasing exponentially eventually exceeds a quantity increasing as a polynomial function?

[ad_1]

Answer:  The correct option is (C). 10 = square root of the quantity of x minus 8 all squared plus y minus 9 all squared

Step-by-step explanation:  Given that the segment AB has point A located at (8, 9). The distance from A to B is 10 units.

We are to select the correct option that could be used to calculate the coordinates for point B.

Let, (x, y) be the co-ordinates of point B.

According to distance formula, the distance between two points (a, b) and (c, d) is given by

d=sqrt{(c-a)^2+(d-b)^2}.

Therefore, the distance between the points A(8, 9) and B(x, y) is given by

d=sqrt{(x-8)^2+(y-9)^2}.

Since, distance between A and B is 10 units, so

d = 10.

Therefore,

10=sqrt{(x-8)^2+(y-9)^2}.

Thus, the correct statement is

10 = square root of the quantity of x minus 8 all squared plus y minus 9 all squared.

Option (C) is correct.

The gravitational force Fg between two objects is given by the equation:

Fg=(G*m₁*m₂)/r₂, where G=6.67*10^-11 m³ kg⁻¹ s⁻² is the gravitational constant, m₁ and m₂ are the masses of the two bodies and r is the distance between those bodies.

Due to the gravitational attraction the pencil and the eraser will attract if we there is no friction on the surface.

m₁=10 g=0.01 kg is the mass of the pencil
m₂=20 g=0.02 kg is the mass of the eraser
r=2.5 cm = 0.025 m

First we calculate the Fg:

Fg={(6.67*10^-11)*0.01*0.02}/(0.025²)=2.1344*10^-11 N

To get the velocity v of the pencil:

v²=2as, where a is the acceleration of the pencil and s is the path. In our case s=r so we can write:

v²=2ar

a=Fg/m₁= 2.133*10^-9 m/s²

v²=2*(2.133*10^-9)*0.025=1.0665*10^-10

v=√(1.0665*10^-10)=1.0327*10^-5 m/s

We have the velocity and the acceleration, so we can calculate the time t with the equation:

t=v/a=(1.0327*10^-5)/(2.133*10^-9)=4841.6 s

1 hour has 3600 s so when we divide time t in seconds by 3600 we get time T in hours:

T=t/3600=4841.6/3600=1.3449 h.

So the time for the pencil and eraser to touch is T=1.3449 hours.

Also time T can be expressed like T= 1h and 20 mins and 41.64 s

Many different types of writing exist in the world, ranging from classic Shakespearean plays to politicians’ speeches to the screenplay treatments that inspired this summer’s biggest blockbuster hits. These works may vary in tone, genre, and type, but as pieces of writing, they should have one thing in common: a purpose.

Authors write for many different reasons. Those reasons are called the author’s purpose. Depending on the purpose, authors may choose all different sorts of writing formats, genres and vernacular. A simple trick to summarize the three main categories of author’s purpose is to use the acronym PIE, which stands for persuading, inform and entertain. Although there are many reasons to write, to persuade, to inform and to entertain represent the three main forms of author’s purpose. Most other reasons can be grouped into those three broader categories.

True or False: All investments eventually increase in value if held long enough.

[ad_1]

Answer:

Part 1: The perimeter of total grazing area is 100 feet.

Part 2: The cost of fencing the entire grazing area is $759.

Part 3: The total cost to build a fence around the entire land of the large scaled farm is $ 45540.

Step-by-step explanation:

Formula of area of regular polygon = frac{ap}{2}

Where a is apothem and p is perimeter.

We are given that  The grazing area must be a total of 500 square feet.

We are also given that the length of the apothem must be 10 feet long.

So, area = 500 sq. ft.

a = 10 ft.

So,  500=frac{10 times p}{2}

1000=10 times p

100= p

Part 1: Hence the perimeter of total grazing area is 100 feet.

Now cost of fencing 1 foot = $7.59

So, cost of fencing 100 feet = 7.59 times 100 = 759

Part 2: Hence the cost of fencing the entire grazing area is $759.

Let the industrial grazing area be x

Since we are given that this grazing area is 1/60 of an Industrial grazing area

So, frac{x}{60}= 500

x= 500times 60

x=30000

So, area of large scaled far is 30000 sq.ft.

now ,Area = frac{ap}{2}

So, a = 10 feet

So, 30000=frac{10p}{2}

60000=10p

6000=p

Cost of fencing 1 foot = $7.59

So, cost of fencing 6000 feet = 7.59 times 6000 = 45540

Part 3: Hence the total cost to build a fence around the entire land of the large scaled farm is $ 45540.

The best option to answer the question is (C) she can use bright, contrasting colors and place a link to the index of summer clothing product pages in a noticeable location.

The other options are not the best avenue of action to take since she using black and white colors might not be the best way to attract the young adults who are looking for summer clothing – she should choose bright colors instead.

Writing a detailed article might be a good way to market her products if she links her clothing in the article, but since the option doesn’t mention her doing that, we should choose option (C) instead, since it directly states putting links that direct her visitors to summer clothing that her website offers.

Yi and Sue play a game. They start with the number 42000. Yi divides by a prime number, then passes the quotient to Sue. Then Sue divides this quotient by a prime number and passes the result back to Yi, and they continue taking turns in this way. For example, Yi could start by dividing 42000 by 3. In this case, he would pass Sue the number 14000. Then Sue could divide by 7 and pass Yi the number 2000, and so on. The players are not allowed to produce a quotient that isn’t an integer. Eventually, someone is forced to produce a quotient of 1, and that player loses. Naturally, any integer n larger than 127 will return 127equiv127mod n, and of course 127equiv0mod127, so we restrict the possible solutions to 1le n<127.

Now,

127equiv7mod n

is the same as saying there exists some integer k such that

127=nk+7

We have

implies 120=nk

which means that any n that satisfies the modular equivalence must be a divisor of 120, of which there are 16: {1,2,3,4,5,6,8,10,12,15,20,24,30,40,60,120}.

In the cases where the modulus is smaller than the remainder 7, we can see that the equivalence still holds. For instance,

127=21cdot6+1iff127equiv1equiv7mod6

(If we’re allowing n=1, then I see no reason we shouldn’t also allow 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.)
