What is the theme of Ode to a Grecian Urn? A. Beauty is eternal. B. Beauty is a universal language among friend and foe. C. both of these D. none of these

[ad_1]

Answer:

Option B. The theme of “Ode to a Grecian Urn” is that beauty is eternal.

Explanation:

“Ode to a Grecian urn” is a poem written by the English poet John Keats in May 1818 and anonymously published on 1820 in an Art magazine. The central theme of the poem examines the eternity that beauty and truth holds and relates them to how our own lives are transcendent. For the speaker,it is through beauty that humankind connects to the truth, and how complex it is for us to comprehend that both concepts, truth and beauty, are indeed eternal while our existence is not. The speaker is not only meditating on beauty and its connection to art but at the same time is trying to understand the complex emotions that death awakens in him, and how inevitable it is.

PLEASE HELP Mr. Utterson the lawyer was a man of a rugged countenance, that was never lighted by a smile; cold, scanty and embarrassed in discourse; backward in sentiment; lean, long, dusty, dreary, and yet somehow lovable. At friendly meetings, and when the wine was to his taste, something eminently human beaconed from his eye; something indeed which never found its way into his talk, but which spoke not only in these silent symbols of the after-dinner face, but more often and loudly in the acts of his life. He was austere with himself; drank gin when he was alone, to mortify a taste for vintages; and though he enjoyed the theatre, had not crossed the doors of one for twenty years. But he had an approved tolerance for others; sometimes wondering, almost with envy, at the high pressure of spirits involved in their misdeeds; and in any extremity inclined to help rather than to reprove. "I incline to, Cain's heresy*," he used to say. "I let my brother go to the devil in his quaintly 'own way.'" In this character, it was frequently his fortune to be the last reputable acquaintance and the last good influence in the lives of down-going men. And to such as these, so long as they came about his chambers, he never marked a shade of change in his demeanour. No doubt the feat was easy to Mr. Utterson; for he was undemonstrative at the best, and even his friendship seemed to be founded in a similar catholicity of good-nature. It is the mark of a modest man to accept his friendly circle ready-made from the hands of opportunity; and that was the lawyer's way. His friends were those of his own blood or those whom he had known the longest; his affections, like ivy, were the growth of time, they implied no aptness in the object. Hence, no doubt, the bond that united him to Mr. Richard Enfield, his distant kinsman, the well-known man about town. It was a nut to crack for many, what these two could see in each other, or what subject they could find in common. It was reported by those who encountered them in their Sunday walks, that they said nothing, looked singularly dull, and would hail with obvious relief the appearance of a friend. For all that, the two men put the greatest store by these excursions, counted them the chief jewel of each week, and not only set aside occasions of pleasure, but even resisted the calls of business, that they might enjoy them uninterrupted. *The biblical story of Cain and Abel is a story about two brothers who gave offerings to God. Abel’s offering was accepted by God, but Cain’s was not. Jealous, Cain killed his brother. When God asked Cain where Abel was, Cain said, “Am I my brother’s keeper?” By saying this, Cain implied that what his brother did was his own business. (Genesis 4:1-16) What is significant about “Cain’s heresy” in this passage? A.It shows that Mr. Utterson is a deeply religious and righteous person. B.It shows that Mr. Utterson tries not to judge others or get in their business. C.It shows the Mr. Utterson wants to steal from other people’s businesses. D.It shows that Mr. Utterson does not believe in any kind of religion at all.

[ad_1]

The most comfortable thing that I would do among the choices is
introducing myself to a stranger

There’s no harm in approaching someone and telling them your name and asking for theirs. This is much easier when what you have in mind is purely introducing yourself and asking for other person’s name. After that, you can choose to do whatever you want, either start a conversation with a topic or end it at just knowing each other’s names.

The other choices involve some form of conflict or negative emotions which is why they’re harder to do.

[ad_1]

If the individual has entity theory, then it means that he or she has the thought or belief that his or her knowledge about things are unchangeable in a way that they are built that way and are already fixed. If the individual has lost the chess game and he has the entity theory, he would probably think that he has bad genes when it comes to playing chess.

The Contribution Margin per unit (CM) can be calculated
from the difference of Selling Price per unit (SP) and Total Expenses per unit
(TE).

First, let’s calculate the value of SP:

SP = Sales / Units sold

SP = $1,043,400 / 22,200 units sold

SP = $47

Second, calculate all expenses:

Direct materials per unit = $234,948 / 27,970 units
manufactured = $8.4

Direct labor per unit = $131,459 / 27,970 units
manufactured = $4.7

Variable manufacturing overhead per unit = $240,542 / 27,970
units manufactured = $8.6

Variable selling expenses per unit = $113,220 / 22,200
units sold = $5.1

TE = $26.8

Therefore the CM is:

CM = SP – TE

CM = $47 – $26.8

CM = $20.2 per unit

Answer:

Option C – BD=76 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : You are designing a diamond-shaped kite. you know that AD = 44.8 cm, DC = 72 cm, and AC = 84.8 cm.

To find : How long BD should it be?

Solution :

First we draw a rough diagram.

The given sides were AD = 44.8 cm, DC = 72 cm and AC = 84.8 cm.

According to properties of kite

Two disjoint pairs of consecutive sides are congruent.

So, AD=AB=44.8 cm

DC=BC=72 cm

The diagonals are perpendicular.

So, AC ⊥ BD

Let O be the point where diagonal intersect let let the partition be x and y.

AC= AO+OC

AC=  x+y=84.8 …….[1]

Perpendicular bisect the diagonal BD into equal parts let it be z.

BD=BO+OD

BD=z+z

Applying Pythagorean theorem in ΔAOD

where H=AD=44.8 ,P= AO=x , B=OD=z

H^2=P^2+B^2

(44.8)^2=x^2+z^2  ………[2]

Applying Pythagorean theorem in ΔCOD

where H=DC=72 ,P= OC=y , B=OD=z

H^2=P^2+B^2

(72)^2=y^2+z^2 …………[3]

Subtract [2] and [3]

(72)^2-(44.8)^2=y^2+z^2-x^2-z^2

5184-2007.04=(x+y)(x-y)

3176.96=(84.8)(x-y)

37.464=x-y ……….[4]

Add equation [1] and [4], to get values of x and y

x+y+x-y=84.8+37.464

2x=122.264

x=61.132

Substitute x in [1]

x+y=84.8

61.132+y=84.8

y=23.668

Substitute value of x in equation [2], to get z

(44.8)^2=x^2+z^2

(44.8)^2=(23.668)^2+z^2

2007.04-560.174224=z^2

z=sqrt{1446.865776}

z=38.06

We know, BD=z+z

BD= 38.06+38.06

BD= 76.12

Nearest to whole number BD=76 cm

Therefore, Option c – BD=76 cm is correct.

Charlie had a waist circumference of 47 inches and a BMI of 29 this shows that she is overweight. BMI test level is high from normal ranges shows that she is at higher risk of disease. She should lose weight and concern to the doctor.

Further Explanation:

Body mass index (BMI) is a measured value derived from the height of a person and mass.

{text{BMI}}=dfrac{{{text{mass (kg)}}}}{{{{left( {{text{height}}}right)}^2}{{left({text{m}}right)}^2}}}

BMI indicates whether the person is healthy or overweight mainly used by physicians.

• Range of BMI in a normal person is 18.5-25mathbf{kg/m}^{2}

• Range of BMI in skinfold person is 25-30mathbf{kg/m}^{2}

• Range of BMI in underweight person is 15-18.5mathbf{kg/m}^{2}

The skinfold measurement test is used to determine a person’s body fat percentage and body composition.

In this test, we are the proportion of body fat by determining skinfold thickness at pinches specific part of the body. The estimate of these folds is determined the fat beneath the skin, also called subcutaneous adipose tissue.

The tester pinches the skin at the site and drags the fold of skin away from the muscle so only the fat tissue and skin are being held. The skinfold thickness is measured by skinfold calipers in millimeters.

Skin test includes the seven locations of the body:

1. Triceps

2. Quadriceps

3. Suprailiac

4. Pectoral

5. Subscapular

6. Midaxilla

7. Abdomen

In Spanish, the preterite tense (el pretérito) is used to describe actions completed at a point in the past. So the Spanish preterite is not used to describe regular or continuous actions in the past with no specific beginning or end. In that case, we use the imperfect. Therefore, we use the preterite to talk about completed actions in the past. So, it is used to talk about beginnings and ends, things that occurred on specific dates or days, at specific times or during specific time periods, and events in a sequence. There are two forms in this verbal tense, namely: Regular Imperfect Forms and Irregular Imperfect Forms.

On the other hand, the imperfect tense (el imperfecto) is used to describe past habitual actions or to talk about what someone was doing when they were interrupted by something else. In general, the imperfect is used to talk about past actions, conditions, or events that occurred regularly or frequently or that were in progress in a moment in the past. It is also used to tell time, talk about dates, give a person’s age, and describe features, conditions, and feelings in the past. As in the preterite tense, there are two forms in this verbal tense, namely: Regular Imperfect Forms and Irregular Imperfect Forms.

The regular verb forms for both the preterite and the imperfect are given in three ways, that is, for ar, er and ir endings. So the conjugation will depend on the pronoun of the sentence and the verb ending. On the other hand, the irregular verb forms don’t have a defined structure.

The advice might be to reassure her partner of her love. Jealousy usually comes not from outside, but from within ourselves and our insecurities.

EXPLANATION

Jealousy can sometimes be a major problem in a relationship. Marital therapists have stated that romantic jealousy placed third as the most serious problems that a marriage can have. Jealousy is not a sign of love, but it is motivated by triggers, such as low self-esteem, neuroticism, insecurity, possessiveness, dependency on the partner, feeling inadequacy in a relationship, and having an anxious attachment style.

Thus, the key to reducing jealousy responses of your spouses is to make them feel more secure. You can make your partner feel more securely attached by giving them support and the act of services. These things can make your partner less severely to a jealousy-inducing situation. Jealousy is the act that is stimulated from one own’s insecurity, and it is not an act of love they have for their partner.

If you have a jealous partner, then it might be better for you to reassure them, then just be angry with them because of their jealousy. If you respond to your jealous partner with reassuring them of your love and interest towards them, then you may have a more stable relationship.

Since a tiny tender child of four,
There’s nothing that I dreamt of more,
Than to jump aboard a great big ship,
A telescope, a map, a sword, by my hip,
To feel the sea breeze in my hair,
To stroke my parrot on the wood chair,
To be bold and brave and happy as can be,
To trek and travel and sail the seven seas.

8 lines. Rhyme scheme aabbccdd. If I managed to write that in about 4 minutes, you could write something much better and longer in like 30 minutes. You can use my rubbish poem as inspiration lol. Good luck X

Hey there!

Correct answer is D. Comma or Period Inside Rule

A. Question mark or exclamation point inside: those are not really necessary.

B. Colon or semicolon: not, a semicolon would divide the whole sentence and it would be shorten; a colon would work but after requested, when there is already a comma.

C. Question mark or Exclamation Point Outside Rule: would not work, becase it is an very polite and affirmative sentence.

D: A comma or period inside rule: actually, just a comma would work. Please, Cooper’s dad requested, go… Cooper’s dad requested must be in between commas as it is a vocative.

Hope this helps

The Reformation actually started after Columbus’s landing in North America.

Treaty of Tordesillas in 1494 was forced on Spain and Portugal by the Pope. The Pope basically said that all lands in the New World belonged to Spain and all new non-Christian lands in the Eastern Hemisphere belong to Portugal. No other Catholic countries can do anything in those areas without the approval of the owner.

The pope basically drew two lines on the globe setting the border. The western line started at the north pole cut half way through Greenland and ended at the south pole. The new world was everything to the west. Problem is that it ran through a chunk of Brazil which is why Brazil is an ex-Portuguese colony.

The Eastern line starts at the North Pole runs through siberia, through the pacific just west of Japan, and cuts Australia in half. Of course, Australia hadn’t been discovered yet. Everything to the the east of this line is the new world.

Obviously, this treaty didn’t hold up well, but the reformation gave the protestant countries an excuse to explore the new world since they didn’t have to take orders from the Pope. Even so, France, a catholic country, ignored it too.

Really, the only country that was effected by the reformation in the exploration of the Americas was England. All the other countries, changed their religion once and then went to war with the nearest catholic country. Sweden became Lutheran and stayed that way. The Dutch Republic became Calvinists and stayed that way.

England kept switching. First it was Catholic. Then, Henry VIII made it protestant. Then, Henry’s daughter Mary I made it catholic again. Henry’s other daughter Elizabeth I (with the two hit movies) made it Protestant again.

Years latter, Oliver Cromwell over through the monarchy, executed the King Charles I, and established a Protestant fundamentalist religious military dictatorship. He outlawed drinking,smoking, gambling, theater, dirty books, sports, prostitution, and anything generally fun. He would have made Saudi Arabia proud. Basically, all you could do is work, pray, and die. Sex was allowed for creating children, but you couldn’t enjoy it.

When Cromwell died, the people of England said enough was enough and brought back the King. Charles II kicked out the fundamentalists and brought back drinking, smoking, gambling, dirty books, sports, prostitution, and having fun during sex. Incidentally, those were also all his hobbies.

This brings us to the famous Pilgrims. They were part of Cromwell’s crowd. They kept agitating a return to the no-fun policy. They annoyed everybody. They weren’t persecuted for practicing their religion, they were persecuted because they kept trying to force their religion on everyone else. Sort of like Southern Baptists.

Charles II was the most easy going monarch in British history. Do realize how annoying you have to be to get him to throw you out.

Charles’s brother James II was obsessed with turning Great Britain catholic again. After four years of trying, they kicked him and his followers out.

Solution:

The Given Rectangle having dimensions

Length = 80 cm

Breadth = 50 cm

Let the Six squares which has been cut from this rectangle have side of length a cm.

Area of each square = (Side)²= a²

Area of 6 Identical Squares = 6 × a²= 6 a²

If four squares are cut from four corners and two along Length,

then , Length of Box = (80 – 3 a)cm, Breadth of Box = (50 – 2 a)cm, Height = a cm

Volume of Box =V = Length × Breadth × Height

    V = (80 – 3 a)× (50 – 2 a)× a

     V   = 4000 a – 310 a² + 6 a³

For Maximum Volume

V’= 0 , where V’ = Derivative of V with respect to a.

V’= 4000 – 620 a + 18 a²

V’ =0

18 a² – 620 a + 4000= 0

9 a² – 310 a + 2000=0

using determinant method

a = frac{310pmsqrt{96100-72000}}{18}=frac{310pm155}{18}=frac{310-155}{18}=8.6 cm

V”=1 8 a – 310 = -ve

which shows , when a = 8.6 cm , volume is maximum.

So, V = 4000×8.6 – 310×(8.6)²+6×(8.6)³=15288.736 cm³

OR

If four squares are cut from four corners and two along Breadth,

then , Length of Box = (80 – 2 a)cm, Breadth of Box = (50 –  3 a)cm, Height = a cm

Volume of Box =V = Length × Breadth × Height

    V = (80 – 2 a)× (50 – 3 a)× a

     V   = 4000 a – 340 a² + 6 a³

For Maximum Volume

V’= 0 , where V’ = Derivative of V with respect to a.

V’= 4000 – 680 a + 18 a²

V’ =0

18 a² – 680 a + 4000= 0

9 a² – 340 a + 2000=0

Using Determinant method

a = frac{340pmsqrt{115600-72000}}{18}=frac{340pm209}{18}=frac{131}{18}=7.6 cm

V”=18 a -340= -ve value when a = 7.6 cm, shows volume is maximum when a = 7.6 cm

V= 4000×7.6 -340 × (7.6)² +6× (7.6)³=13395.456 cubic cm
