This made Florida truly flourish for a time, becoming a hotspot for wealthy vacation homes. The Great Depression almost killed us.. many buisness owners had come to depend on tourism to make a living wage, but since the great depression loomed over everyone, no one took vacations. No one had extra money to spend. Many of those wealthy vacation homes went into foreclosure. The Floridian Economy tanked during this time, so bad we even feel ripple effects of it today, even though we have built up so much more.
