The error in grammar: it help

Correct verb form: it helps

Explanation:

In the simple present tense, third-person singular pronouns, like she, he and it, use conjugated verbs formed by the base form of a verb and the affix -s, -es, or -ies. For example: helps, thinks, cries, watches. In the excerpt provided, the error is in the verb help because it is not correctly conjugated for the pronoun it: it is missing an s at the end.

## Think about the characters of Feld and Miriam. What message about families is evident in their relationship?

Answer:Leo Tolstoy wrote the novella The Death of Ivan Ilyich to criticize the emerging middle class of modern Russia in the nineteenth century. Ivan Ilyich, his family, and his friends are part of this budding middle class. Tolstoy’s aim in writing this novella was to criticize the thoughts and the approach of middle class people toward their families, their jobs, and society. He used the life of Ivan Ilyich to demonstrate all the aspects of the middle class that he believed were wrong. Tolstoy portrays Ivan Ilyich as a man whose life decisions are based on social acceptance. He chooses his friends and even his wife based on their social standing. When he starts to find his family life unpleasant because of his wife’s constant nagging, he limits his interactions with the whole family. Instead, he seeks comfort in his work. He assumes a formal relationship with his family members, particularly his wife. This change in his feelings and attitude toward his family does not seem strange to him. On the contrary, getting away from his family becomes his life goal:

This aloofness might have grieved Ivan Ilyich had he considered that it ought not to exist, but he now regarded the position as normal, and even made it the goal at which he aimed in family life.

Tolstoy deplored the middle-class habit of maintaining distance with family members in private but keeping up appearances of closeness for the public. Tolstoy shows his character Ivan Ilyich making the effort to maintain this detachment from his family members while ensuring that his family appears on the outside to be a regular and happy family. Even when he has to be at home with his family, he makes sure that they have guests. That way, he can avoid confrontations or meaningful discussions with his family:

His aim was to free himself more and more from those unpleasantnesses and to give them a semblance of harmlessness and propriety. He attained this by spending less and less time with his family, and when obliged to be at home he tried to safeguard his position by the presence of outsiders.

Ilyich’s work soon becomes an obsession, and everything else, including his family is secondary to his job:

The chief thing however was that he had his official duties. The whole interest of his life now centered in the official world and that interest absorbed him.

Through Ivan Ilyich, Tolstoy portrayed a class of people who make determined efforts to escape human contact and suffering by seemingly living in denial. They are people who run away from love and relationships, and they are unwilling to reflect on their lives. Instead, they choose to exist in their self-centered world until they are jolted into reality. In Ivan Ilyich’s case, this jolt comes in the form of his illness in chapter 4.

Tolstoy would not have agreed with Ivan Ilyich’s priorities. Unlike Ivan, Tolstoy looked inward throughout his adult life. He searched for a deeper meaning and purpose, especially in regard to his political and religious ideals. While those ideals eventually caused Tolstoy to avoid his wife, he generally had a close relationship with his family. By all accounts, he seemed very much a man who loved and cherished his wife and their 10 children. While Tolstoy was dedicated to his writing, his family seemed to inspire him, rather than get in the way of his literary genius. His wife was involved in his work, having transcribed most of his writing. Even Tolstoy’s last days were spent on a pilgrimage that he embarked on with his youngest daughter.

## What famous teacher’s message was brought from India to China?

The Great Wall of China is the longest man-made structure in the world, stretching 21,196.18km (13,170.6956 miles) long. It was built to keep out raiding parties of nomadic tribes, such as the Mongol, Turic and Xiongnu, from modern-day Mongolia and Manchuria.

The first Emperor of China, Qin Shi Huang, is often considered the father of the Great Wall, but even before he united the nation in 221BC, individual states built walls to keep out invaders as early as the 7th Century. Qin connected, lengthened and fortified the walls to protect the northern border between 221-206BC. Subsequent dynasties, most notably the Ming, maintained and rebuilt it.

## Hurry help me !!! Species are disappearing at an accelerating rate through human action, primarily habitat destruction but also pollution and the introduction of exotic species into residual natural environments. I have said that a fifth or more of the species of plants and animals could vanish or be doomed to early extinction by the year 2020 unless better efforts are made to save them. . . . As the last forests are felled in forest strongholds like the Philippines and Ecuador, the decline of species will accelerate even more. In the world as a whole, extinction rates are already hundreds or thousands of times higher than before the coming of man. They cannot be balanced by new evolution in any period of time that has meaning for the human race. What message does the author convey in this excerpt? Humans need to take action to end further destruction of the natural environment. In the coming years, humans will put forth stronger efforts to save plants and animals. The extinction of plant and animal species is problematic in the Philippines and Ecuador. In recent years, the extinction rate for many animal species has significantly increased.

We could say that the letter of claim is not complete. A correct claim letter needs. For instances it would be of great importance if he could add: what the missing parts look like so they can send them and the model and serial numbers so they could track the product.

## Evaluate the argument in this political cartoon. Is the message clear? Why or why not?

I believe this speech is very persuasive. In this speech, McCullough explains his views on the new ways of approaching education. I believe he does a good job of explaining why the pursuit to be the best has become meaningless and empty.

In the passage, the author argues that people are obsessed with being the “best.” This is because they believe that they are special, and that they really can achieve things that are more incredible than those of the general population. However, the author argues successfully, not everyone can be special because that would lead you to the conclusion that no one is. Similarly, if every school is one of the best, then the category loses meaning. This is a very logical and persuasive argument.

Moreover, he argues that this belief leads people to have experiences that would normally be good and meaningful. However, they engage in them in a superficial way. They do so simply to have a better track record of accomplishments. This leads to experiences becoming cheap and meaningless, and to life being seen as a series of races and awards.

So I know that there are two questions for this assesment so I decided to put both answers in. 🙂

Assignment

Text Structure

Part I

Instructions: Write a paragraph (5-7 complete sentences) explaining what text structure is.

Text structure refers to how the information within a written text is organized. This strategy helps understand that a text might present a main idea and details; a cause and then its effects; and/or different views of a topic. It is also the manner in which written content is arranged is known as text structure. Common text structures include compare and contrast, sequence, description, problem and solution, and cause and effect.

Part II

Instructions: Write two paragraphs (5-7 complete sentences) that compare how the structures of “Gumption” and “To Build a Fire” create meaning.

“Gumption” and “To Build a Fire” create meanings. Both tells the struggles they both went through. In “gumption” Oyster and his boy are dealing with racial injustice.  In “to build a fire” he is challenged with surviving in the wilderness in the middle of winter. So the meaning creates that life can be challenging.

good luck! 🙂

B) according to the particulate nature of matter, molecules in air are much further apart than molecules in solids. Use this model to explain why Boy B head this difference C) suggest some ways in which this experiment can be improve

The right answer is James Watson and Francis Crick.

On April 25, 1953, Francis Crick and James Watson described for the first time in a study the structure of DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid), a molecule in the form of a double helix containing the genetic heritage of all life forms. It was with a single-page article published in the British scientific journal Nature that the two young researchers (Crick was 36 years old and Watson only 25) would upset the world of biology and genetics.

At the time, we already know DNA and, even if some scientists have had trouble accepting it, we know that it is the support of heredity. Studies have also already specified its chemical nature: a combination of nucleotides (phosphate – deoxyribose – nitrogenous base), assembled in long chains.
