You didn’t provide answer choices, but the most likely answer is:

Explanation:

Thomas Hobbes pointed to the social contract as the source of a government’s authority, saying that a ruler got his power from the people over whom he ruled, not directly from God. But Hobbes’ argument still supported a strong monarch style of government for the sake of a country’s security and stability.  Whoever was put in charge of government needed to have absolute power, in his view.  Thomas Hobbes published his political theory in Leviathan  in 1651, following the chaos and destruction of the English Civil War.  He saw human beings as naturally suspicious of one another, in competition with each other, and evil toward one another as a result.  Forming a government meant giving up personal liberty, but gaining security against what would otherwise be a situation of every person at war with every other person.  So once the people gave power to a monarch, then that ruler needed to have absolute authority in order to maintain security and stability in the social order.

You need to determine the number of ways in which 30 competitors from 50 can qualify. First, you have to realize that the order is irrelevant, that is: it is the same competitor_1, competitor _2, competitor _3 than competitor_3, competitor_2, competitor_1, or any combination of those three competitors.

So, the number of ways is which 30 competitors from 50 can qualify is given by the formula of combinations, which is:

C (m,n) = m! / (n! * (m -n)! )

=> C (50,30) = 50! / (30! (50 – 30)! ) = (50!) / [30! (50 – 30)!] = 50! / [30! 20!] =

 = 47,129,212,243,960 different ways the qualifiying round of 30 competitors can be selected from the 50 competitors.

Chelsa manufacturing co.’s static budget at 5,000 units of production includes $40,000 for direct labor and $5,000 for variable electric power. total fixed costs are $23,000. at 8,000 units of production, a flexible budget would show a. variable and fixed costs totaling $107,000 b. variable costs of $64,000, and $28,000 of fixed costs c. variable costs of $64,000, and $23,000 of fixed costs d. variable costs of $72,000, and $23,000 of fixed costs

Calculate variable cost per unit

40000/5000=8 per unit

And
5000/5000=1 per unit

Variable cost per unit=8+1=9 per unit

So variable cost at 8000 units is
8,000×9=72,000

Your answer is
d. variable costs of $72,000, and $23,000 of fixed costs

Answer:

Option C – BD=76 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : You are designing a diamond-shaped kite. you know that AD = 44.8 cm, DC = 72 cm, and AC = 84.8 cm.

To find : How long BD should it be?

Solution :

First we draw a rough diagram.

The given sides were AD = 44.8 cm, DC = 72 cm and AC = 84.8 cm.

According to properties of kite

Two disjoint pairs of consecutive sides are congruent.

So, AD=AB=44.8 cm

DC=BC=72 cm

The diagonals are perpendicular.

So, AC ⊥ BD

Let O be the point where diagonal intersect let let the partition be x and y.

AC= AO+OC

AC=  x+y=84.8 …….[1]

Perpendicular bisect the diagonal BD into equal parts let it be z.

BD=BO+OD

BD=z+z

Applying Pythagorean theorem in ΔAOD

where H=AD=44.8 ,P= AO=x , B=OD=z

H^2=P^2+B^2

(44.8)^2=x^2+z^2  ………[2]

Applying Pythagorean theorem in ΔCOD

where H=DC=72 ,P= OC=y , B=OD=z

H^2=P^2+B^2

(72)^2=y^2+z^2 …………[3]

Subtract [2] and [3]

(72)^2-(44.8)^2=y^2+z^2-x^2-z^2

5184-2007.04=(x+y)(x-y)

3176.96=(84.8)(x-y)

37.464=x-y ……….[4]

Add equation [1] and [4], to get values of x and y

x+y+x-y=84.8+37.464

2x=122.264

x=61.132

Substitute x in [1]

x+y=84.8

61.132+y=84.8

y=23.668

Substitute value of x in equation [2], to get z

(44.8)^2=x^2+z^2

(44.8)^2=(23.668)^2+z^2

2007.04-560.174224=z^2

z=sqrt{1446.865776}

z=38.06

We know, BD=z+z

BD= 38.06+38.06

BD= 76.12

Nearest to whole number BD=76 cm

Therefore, Option c – BD=76 cm is correct.

The correct answer of this question is : C i.e Gravitational < Weak nuclear force < Electromagnetic force < Strong nuclear force.

EXPLANATION:

There are four fundamental forces in nature which are known as gravitational force, weak nuclear force, electromagnetic force and strong nuclear force.

Out of these four fundamental forces, the gravitational force is the weakest forces in nature,but has infinite range.

Weak nuclear force is produced due to W/Z bosons. Hence, it is stronger than gravitational force but weaker as compared to electromagnetic and strong nuclear force. It is a short range force.

Electromagnetic force is the third one which is weaker as compared to strong nuclear force but has infinite range.

Strong nuclear force is a short range, spin dependent strong attractive force that arises between nucleons due to exchange of mesons.

Despite his antisocial behavior, Silas is an openhearted, deeply kind and honest person. Nowhere in the novel does Silas do or say anything malicious nor is her selfish. Silas’s has an awkward love of money is merely the product of spiritual destruction, yet he has a hidden bottle of love that is expressed when he begins to raise Eppie. He is physically powerful and carries an enjoyable presence, Godfrey is overall very passive. Actually, he is similar to Silas. However, Godfrey’s passivity is quite noticeably different from Silas’, as his endless indecisiveness based entirely from selfishness. Godfrey is constantly targeted to constant blackmail from Dunsey, who has knowledge of Godfrey’s hidden secretive marriage, which later Godfrey is freed of his malicious brother’s antics by an accident due to Molly slipping up and spilling the details of the marriage. Even Godfrey’s confessions is a bit late as it comes years too late and once he was finally up to care for Eppie, she’d had a new father which was Silas. Nancy, whom is quite iffy and questionable thought out to me, lives her life based on code of behavioral beliefs. She has already decided how she feels about every thing in her life, not completely on the basis of any such reason, but because anything else is weak and fragile in her eyes. When Nancy was younger, this “code” of hers quite hugely says that she and her sister must dress alike on formal dinners, balls, weddings and such. When she is older, Nancy’s code says it’s an absolute no for her to adopt a child since in her mind an action of the sorts is like a defiance of God’s plan. Nancy is not well educated or interested in much, Nancy is, however, a true kind and caring person, based off her willing to forgive Godfrey after his confession, which I still think is because God wont allow you into Heaven if you do not forgive all those whom have sinned against you.

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Let j represents water in one glass jag while p’ represents the water in one plastic container,

According to the question,

j-p’ = 6p+8 ——–(1)

And, 2j+2p’=56p ——–(2)

2 × equation (1)

2 j – 2 p’ = 12p + 16 ———(3)

Equation (2) + equation (3)

We get, 4 j = 12 p + 72

j = 3 p + 18

Putting this value in equation (1),

We get, 3p+18-p’=6p+8

p’ = -3p + 10 = 10 – 3p

Thus, water in a plastic container, p’= 10 – 3 p

b) If p=3

Water in a glass container = 3 × 3 + 18 = 27 quarts

Water in a plastic container = 10 – 3 × 3 = 1 quarts

Which of the following terms describes a pattern of inheritance in which one allele is only partially dominant? A. codominance B. acquired traits C. multiple allele D. incomplete dominance

[ad_1]

First off, a plant wilts because of a phenomenon called Osmosis.
Osmosis-:: The diffusion of water across a selectively permeable membrane.

When a plant is in a Hypertonic environment, Osmosis occurs, causing the plant to wilt.
Hypertonic environment-:: When there is a greater amount of dissolved substances outside of a plant cell, causing there to be a greater amount of water inside of the plant cell.

-::When a plant cell is in this environment, Osmosis occurs, causing water to rush out of the plant cell, which causes the cytoplasm and plasma membrane of the cell to shrink away from the cell wall, causing the plant to wilt.

-::When water is added to a wilted plant, water rushes back into the cell, causing the cell organelles such as the cytoplasm and plasma membrane to retain their normal shapes. As water rushes into the cell, the plasma membrane is then pushed against the cell wall (instead of away from it as in Osmosis in a Hypertonic environment) causing the cell to become firm, thus making the plant firm.

Hope this helps.

The characteristics of each poem are:

  • “I, Too” by Lansgton Hughes: 1, 6

1- This poem is a reference, and a sort of answer, to Whitman’s poem “I Hear America Singing.” In his poem, Whitman talks about how every American -mechanics, carpenters, boatmans- is singing. However, he makes no mention of black people. This is why the poem is entitled “I, Too,” to express that Hugues, an African American man, is still an American.

6- This poem does not have specific rhyme scheme or meter. Therefore, it is written in what is known as “free verse.”

  • From the Dark Tower” by Countee Cullen: 2, 3, 4, 5

2- The social injustice paradox means that social injustice is rooted in the lack of access to education, money and power, and that the solution lies in institutions which are always supported by those with money and power. This poem refers to this paradox because it refers to white people oppresing African Americans and not allowing them to be rightfully repaid for their work.

3- This poem is written in iambic pentameter and has a traditional (ABAB) rhyme scheme.

4- The poem symbolizes the great efforst black people did while working, only to have their profits taken by their white maters.

5- The whole poem is filled with an angry tone. Lines such as “Not always bend to some more subtle brute;” clearly express the resentment and repudiation she feels for white people.

Answer: 1. In water, a base forms hydroxide ions (OH^{-}

               2. Neutralization reaction happens when a base is mixed with an acid.

Explanation:

1.   A base is a substance which when dissolved in water dissociates into hydrogen ions and hydroxide ions.

For example, NaOH rightarrow Na^{+} + OH^{-}

Whereas an acid is a substance that dissociates into ions when dissolved in water to give hydrogen ions (H^{+}).

Therefore, we can conclude that in water, base forms hydroxide ions (OH–).

2.   When an acid reacts with a base then it yields into the formation of salt and water.

For example, HCl + KOH rightarrow KCl + H_{2}O

This reaction of neutralizing acid with base to give salt and water is known as neutralization reaction.

pH of the reaction becomes equal to 7 when a strong base is treated with strong acid.

Thus, we can conclude that when a base is mixed with an acid neutralization reaction occurs.

To be able to analyze the elements used by William Carlos William´s in his poem: “The Red Wheelbarrow”, we must first understand these two literary and poetic movements that affected the way that literature was written from the end of the 19th century to the 20th century.

First, modernism is a literary movement that originates at the end of the 19th century and influences most of the 20th century, especially writers from Europe and North America. In essence, modernism was born from the philosophical principles and ideals set forth by such thinkers as Sigmund Freud and Ernst Mach and it believes that literature needed to break off from the traditions and ideals that had been present in the past. Particularly, they were very much influenced by the aftereffects of World War I and believed in going into a simpler form of writing, more concise and direct and less filled with prose and abstract ideas. On the other hand lies Imagism, an Anglo-American 20th century movement that affected poetry mostly and helped to jumpstart modernism in literature. In essence, Imagism believed in the need to break off from certain poetic traditions that had been set during the Romantic and Victorian eras, they proposed a much simpler use of verse forms, instituting the free verse style, and believed in the need for the use of more direct and simpler images and an economy of language. Finally, they believed in the observation and importance of underlining the characteristics and essence of a single object  through the simplification of the elements that make part of said object. One example, in another form of art, would be Cubism. One of the most important representatives of this movement, precisely, was William Carlos Williams.

In the poem, The Red Wheelbarrow, you can see these elements proposed by both the modernists and imagists. It is a really short poem, each stanza with only two lines, with a single object being identified and mentioned; the wheelbarrow. All focus is on this particular element and all defining objects around it only serve to underline the characteristics that make it up. There is also the use of very simple language, very simple imagery and a freestyle that makes its reading lead you to think of only one thing: the wheelbarrow.

He government should not regulate the credit card industry, because every time they start regulating, prices go up.

Each time the government steps in to regulate, consumer prices quickly increase. Let the free market regulate industry. Any unethical company is shunned by consumers. At the same time, credit card issuers are in business to make a profit. High risk credit card holders reduce the issuer’s profit. If high risk users want to use credit cards, it is fair that they be required to pay more. In the insurance industry, drivers convicted of drunk driving must pay higher premiums, while smokers pay higher life insurance premiums. Let the deadbeats pay higher credit card interest rates.

‘s more than just cards, it’s the industry as a whole

CC companies basically restrict all the ways for you to earn credit to only giving them money in interest. If I pay off my debts, that should show I have good credit and am trustworthy. The market is not regulating itself beyond coming up with figures for maximum profit without completely shunning consumers. And there is no choice in the matter for consumers because all 3 companies run the same. Why should my credit suffer if I want to shop around for a credit card, even if I’m keeping the ones I have? Why should I be hurt for looking for a loan from several providers? There are ways around exposing yourself to credit backlash, but it’s nearly impossible for the

Companies intent on deceitful practices will always find a way to do those. For business at large the less regulation there is the more the economy will thrive.

Economics show us that the more open and unregulated a market is, the more money will be spent on investment in it and the better it will thrive. History has also shown that unpopular products won’t last so if consumers avoid using credit cards that use unethical rate plans, those cards will eventually leave the market.average person to stay on top of it all. I have excellent credit but just because I can play the game doesn’t mean I like the rules.
