What price do farmers get for the peach crops? in the third week of June, a random sample of 40 farming regions gave a sample mean of $6.88 per basket. assume that the standard deviation is known to be $1.92 per basket. find a 90% confidence interval for the population mean price per basket that farmers in this region get for their peach crop

[ad_1]

Given:
Sample size, n = 40
Sample mean, xb = $6.88
Population std. deviation, σ = $1.92 (known)
Confidence interval = 90%

Assume normal distribution for the population.
The confidence interval is
(xb + 1.645*(σ/√n), xb – 1.645*(σ/√n)
= (6.88 + (1.645*1.92)/√40, 6.88 – (1.645*1.92)/√40)
= (7.38, 6.38)

Religion plays a large part in shaping the different cultural regions of the world. Central and South Asia, East Asia, and Southeast Asia share some of the same religions and religious history, though none of them is a distinct cultural region. In what ways are the religions of these Asian regions culturally similar to one another? In what ways are the regions culturally different due to religion?

[ad_1]

Answered by answersmine AT 22/10/2019 – 03:26 AM

Each religion has a different culture. Many religions restrict eating certain foods, wearing certain clothes or associating with certain people. In Central Asia, Chinese religion such as Buddhism and many other religions live by certain values, whereas in South Asia such as India, there are a whole new set of different religions. These religions and their restrictions greatly separate people from each other and create socially and culturally diverse regions

What did the United States of America do in retaliation against Iran? They sent more troops to the area. They detained Iranian refugees. They froze all Iranian assets. They boycotted oil from the region.

[ad_1]

The correct answer should be
They froze all Iranian assets

They also introduced sanctions and put an embargo on all trade with Iran. They didn’t boycott oil since nobody would do that, and they didn’t send troops out of fear of what would happen to those people. No detaining of Iranians occurred either because it would be counter productive.

Please help / brainliest Thank you! >>>>>Why did slavery start in the colonies? How were slaves brought to the colonies? What types of jobs did slaves do in each colonial region: New England, Middle and the South? Why were the jobs in each region different? Why were slaves important to the colonial economy? (If you could would you include a pictures that helps support the answer to each question [multiple pictures])

[ad_1]

Slavery started in the colonies because the colonists needed more people to work in their tobacco/cotton/farming fields.
Slaves were brought on ships traveling across the Atlantic, huddled and packed together tightly with little food and water.
New England: Mainly house work, and working to help bring in fishing for their masters.
Middle: farming and manual work
South: farming, cotton-picking, etc.
Jobs were different in each region, because in each region, terrain, resources, and the ‘health’ of the land were very different
Slaves were important to the colonial economy, because they needed cheaper and more workers for their farms and such. IF you brought more colonists, it would have been harder, because they essentially don’t want to work on someone else’s land, and would just go find theres

Find the area of the shaded region. Round answers to the nearest tenth. Assume all inscribed polygons are regular.

[ad_1]

We can calculate for the area of the shaded region by 1)
calculating the area of circle, 2) calculating for area of triangle, and 3)
calculating for area of the segment below the triangle. Then subtract 2 and 3
from 1.

1) Area of circle, Ac = π r^2

Ac = π (6)^2

Ac = 113.10

2) Area of triangle, At

The triangle is an equilateral triangle with angles on each
corner equal to 60 degrees. Meanwhile, the 3 angles at the center is 120
degrees each since a circle is 360 degree. We know that the radius (line from
centerpoint to corner) is equivalent to 6. Using the cosine law, we can calculate
for the length of one side.

s^2 = 6^ + 6^2 – 2 (6) (6) cos 120

s^2 = 108

s = 10.4

Since this is an equilateral triangle therefore all sides
are equal. The area for this is:

At = (sqrt3 / 4) * s^2

At = 46.77

3) Area of segment, As is given as:

As = [ (r^2) / 2 ] ( θ rad – sin θ )

As = [(6^2) / 2] (120 * π / 180 – sin 120)

As = 22.11

Therefore the area of shaded region is:

A = 113.10 – 46.77 – 22.11

A = 44.22

A gardener has 100 meters of fencing to enclose two adjacent rectangular gardens, as shown in the figure. (a) Write the area of the enclosed region as a function of x.

[ad_1]

Answered by answersmine AT 22/10/2019 – 04:09 AM

Given that the length of the fence is 100=4x+3y, to express the area of the garden as a function of x we proceed as follows;
4x+3y=100
making y the subject we get:
3y=100-4x
y=1/3(100-4x)
therefore the width of the garden is:
y=1/3(100-4x)
hence the area of the fence garden will be:
Area=length*width
length=2x
width=y=1/3(100-4x)
thus;
A=2x*[1/3(100-4x)]
=2/3[100x-4x^2] square units

In the late 1820s, explorers discovered gold in the northern and central regions of Georgia. With thoughts of easy money, many European settlers infiltrated to the region.

[ad_1]

Answer:

Option b. The following is the best way to rewrite the sentences:

In the late 1820s, explorers discovered gold in the northern and central regions of Georgia. With thoughts of easy money, many European settlers migrated to these regions.

Explanation:

The first comma after 1820s is used to separate the dependent clause that initiated the sentence with the rest of it. Then a full stop is used as the sentence had made a full concept that does not need further adding, instead it is time to start a new sentence that will further explain what happened after explorers discovered gold in Georgia. In this second sentence, a comma is again used to separate the two clauses that constitute the sentence.

Carbon dioxide enters the blood at the systemic capillaries. Here, some of the carbon dioxide binds to the globin region of hemoglobin. The systemic capillaries function to carry oxygenated blood for the tissues of the body. As it enters these capillaries, blood would lose oxygen and in return gain CO2 molecules due to the difference in pressure of the tissues and the blood.

You need to determine the number of ways in which 30 competitors from 50 can qualify. First, you have to realize that the order is irrelevant, that is: it is the same competitor_1, competitor _2, competitor _3 than competitor_3, competitor_2, competitor_1, or any combination of those three competitors.

So, the number of ways is which 30 competitors from 50 can qualify is given by the formula of combinations, which is:

C (m,n) = m! / (n! * (m -n)! )

=> C (50,30) = 50! / (30! (50 – 30)! ) = (50!) / [30! (50 – 30)!] = 50! / [30! 20!] =

The Reformation actually started after Columbus’s landing in North America.

Treaty of Tordesillas in 1494 was forced on Spain and Portugal by the Pope. The Pope basically said that all lands in the New World belonged to Spain and all new non-Christian lands in the Eastern Hemisphere belong to Portugal. No other Catholic countries can do anything in those areas without the approval of the owner.

The pope basically drew two lines on the globe setting the border. The western line started at the north pole cut half way through Greenland and ended at the south pole. The new world was everything to the west. Problem is that it ran through a chunk of Brazil which is why Brazil is an ex-Portuguese colony.

The Eastern line starts at the North Pole runs through siberia, through the pacific just west of Japan, and cuts Australia in half. Of course, Australia hadn’t been discovered yet. Everything to the the east of this line is the new world.

Obviously, this treaty didn’t hold up well, but the reformation gave the protestant countries an excuse to explore the new world since they didn’t have to take orders from the Pope. Even so, France, a catholic country, ignored it too.

Really, the only country that was effected by the reformation in the exploration of the Americas was England. All the other countries, changed their religion once and then went to war with the nearest catholic country. Sweden became Lutheran and stayed that way. The Dutch Republic became Calvinists and stayed that way.

England kept switching. First it was Catholic. Then, Henry VIII made it protestant. Then, Henry’s daughter Mary I made it catholic again. Henry’s other daughter Elizabeth I (with the two hit movies) made it Protestant again.

Years latter, Oliver Cromwell over through the monarchy, executed the King Charles I, and established a Protestant fundamentalist religious military dictatorship. He outlawed drinking,smoking, gambling, theater, dirty books, sports, prostitution, and anything generally fun. He would have made Saudi Arabia proud. Basically, all you could do is work, pray, and die. Sex was allowed for creating children, but you couldn’t enjoy it.

When Cromwell died, the people of England said enough was enough and brought back the King. Charles II kicked out the fundamentalists and brought back drinking, smoking, gambling, dirty books, sports, prostitution, and having fun during sex. Incidentally, those were also all his hobbies.

This brings us to the famous Pilgrims. They were part of Cromwell’s crowd. They kept agitating a return to the no-fun policy. They annoyed everybody. They weren’t persecuted for practicing their religion, they were persecuted because they kept trying to force their religion on everyone else. Sort of like Southern Baptists.

Charles II was the most easy going monarch in British history. Do realize how annoying you have to be to get him to throw you out.

Charles’s brother James II was obsessed with turning Great Britain catholic again. After four years of trying, they kicked him and his followers out.

What types of climate, vegetation, and agricultural cultivation is found in the Aegean region?

[ad_1]

Answer:

The Neolithic revolution was a profound change in the life of mankind, in which one moves from a nomadic to a sedentary lifestyle, and an economy of collection and hunting is changed to one of agricultural production.

The cultivation of cereals, especially rye, wheat and barley, characteristic of the Fertile Growing zone, became relevant. It is believed, however, that they were not the first plant species to grow. Legumes date a very old crop and also some fruit trees from Asia. The use of ferments and yeasts, responsible for the production of bread and dairy products and, consequently, of alcoholic beverages, is also recorded.

The first animal to enter the habitat of man was the dog. Sheep, bovine and caprine domestication constitute a fundamental pillar of production today. The domestication of the horse occurred at that time, in the area of Central Asia, along with that of the camelids, which occurred in different sectors.

In the Neolithic there was a demographic increase with respect to the paliolithic, so society was divided between those who plowed the earth, those who harvested, those who polished the stones, the collectors, those who work the ceramics and used the looms – mostly women- , those who built homes and those who looked after livestock. It is necessary to mention the entry into surplus scene. From its appearance, it is possible to exchange goods. This first type of trade is called barter.
