Why is concession the most powerful tool of logos?

[ad_1]

Answer:

c. Gatsby’s desire to regain what he once had.

Explanation:

While Nick Carraway and Jay Gatsby lives in West Egg which is an inferior part of the island, East Egg represents the rich families who had inherited wealth from generations, unlike the ‘new found’ riches of those in the West Egg. The green light in “The Great Gatsby” was first mentioned in chapter 1 when Nick and Gatsby met after he had returned from his dinner with his cousin Daisy and her husband living in East Egg. It is representative of Gatsby’s desire to regain what was once his- money, power, class and being in the company of the rich society again, and most important of all, Daisy.

The era in which early humans made tools is called the _____. Tool Age New Stone Age Paleolithic Age Bronze Age

[ad_1]

The winds of revolution sweeping Egypt today aren’t the first that have ravaged that nation.

Most history textbooks open with a description of ancient Egypt as a towering civilization that, for more than a millennium, led mankind’s intellectual, political and cultural advancement. Each year, millions of visitors marvel at the pyramids jutting from Egypt’s dunes, at the mummified remains of the ancient pharaohs, and at Egypt’s mountains of other artifacts and relics—all testimony to the power the civilization once held.

But perhaps the most striking facet of Egyptian history is its precipitous fall.

Modern-day Egyptians, after all, are not descended from those ancient societies that constructed the Giza Pyramid Complex, the Great Sphinx, and other momentous structures. They have no connection to the early dynastic peoples that pioneered new frontiers in science, mathematics and art, and that once dominated the civilized world. Today’s Egypt is inhabited and ruled by Arabs; before that it was under British control; before that it was controlled by various Muslim peoples, including the Ottomans; before that it was the Romans; before that the Greeks; and before that the Persians.

Egypt has resurfaced intermittently in the past 2,500 years of world history, but always as the territory of a foreign nation or empire. What happened toancient Egypt—the unique and independent civilization established by the pharaohs, the nation that once reigned over mankind? That Egypt has clearly vanished.

Studies continue to prove that if a girl stays in school she will strengthen her family, community, and nation. A long list of benefits of educating a girl in a developing country compiled by the World Health Organization includes later marriages, smaller families, better hygiene, greatly increased likelihood that further children will receive education, and my favorite – greater confidence. A bicycle is a simple, sustainable tool that eases long travel distances and encourages girls to stay in school. —Foreword to Wheels of Change, Leah Missbach Day What is the central idea of this passage from the foreword?

Here are a few pointers; hope this is useful)

Ovation-by definition- is show of appreciation from an audience, for a person’s accomplishments or flaw.

“Everyone deserves a standing ovation because we all overcometh the world.”

A person’s accomplishment could be how they made a positive change in this world, strong leadership- that makes them a effective leader or simply helping others. A person’s flaw- mistakes in life, sin or even guilt should also be considered an appreciation- an ovation for representing mankind’s flaw and that humanity makes mistakes, fulfilling at least one deadly sin such as greed, lust, selfishness etc.

Thus, regardless of a person’s achievement or flaw- a person deserves an applause for, not the least, living in this society and this world that we are all living together and dying together.

That was just the introduction.. the best part is yet to come.. now it’s your turn!!

Here are other pointers to talk about in your essay:

Shakespeare’s famous line “All the World’s a stage. That agrees with your line: “Everybody deserves a standing ovation…”

Shakespeare explains that men and women are like players: they live, and die, some being celebrated and some forever living in solitude till their death. Shakespeare states the world is a “stage” which symbolizes that mankind is in its peak. The world is changing everyday: little by little and humanity is falling behind.
Due to our world turning into machinery: factories, an automotive future: where humans only job to live (entrance) and to die (exit) the famous humans remembered and the flawed not recalled.

This is according to Shakespeare’s imagery.

I don’t know what grade your in, but I think simplifying Shakespeare’s word of mouth in your essay would be handy and useful as it has strong references of your quote, and agrees strongly in your essay.

Hope this helps 🙂

Words such as did, mom, and pop have something in common with the fundamental tool of recombinant dna technology. in the context of recombinant dna technology, which term would be used to describe such words?

[ad_1]

A component or a molecule which when incorporated into the DNA changes its genetic composition is called a mutagen.

Further Explanation:

A mutagen is a compound that might be chemical or physical in nature and cause changes in the genetic material which are heritable and irreversible. When the repair mechanism is unable to recognize the mutagenic effects, it tends to escape the lesions created by the mutagen. Such mutations or lesions become fixed with time and can be inherited by the progeny cells. The changes occurred due to mutagen are called mutations.

The mutations caused due to mutagens are known as induced mutations whereas, some mutations occur spontaneously due to DNA replication error, error in recombination and repair and are called spontaneous mutations.

The mutagens are categorized as follows:

1. Chemical mutagens

The chemical compounds such as aromatic amines, alkylating agents, and deaminating agents directly interact with the DNA and produce mutagenic effects. For example, nitrous oxide is a deaminating agent and causes cytosine to convert into uracil changing the DNA sequence. The alkylating agents result in breakages and crosslinking in the DNA by adding ethyl or methyl group to the bases.

2. Physical mutagens

The ionizing radiations, radioactive decay, and the ultraviolet radiations are the physical agents that cause mutations in the DNA. The radiations like gamma rays and X-rays result in DNA breakages. The ultraviolet radiations absorbed by the bases results in the formation of pyrimidine dimers.

3. Biological mutagens

Bacteria, viruses, and transposons act as biological agents to bring about mutation. The transposons translocate into DNA fragment and disrupt the genetic composition of the functional genes. The virus also disrupts the genetic function once incorporated into the genome. Certain bacteria produce oxidative species which cause DNA damage and increase the mutation efficiency.

A medium is a tool? A. Used to convey ideas or information B. That measures important technology C. Used to evaluate information D. That you buy at the hardware store

[ad_1]

Hey there!

For this problem, I would say your answer is the third option, to understand him or her better.

Critical listening is listening in the moment and truly comprehending what someone is saying as they are saying it. It’s used to simply understand someone’s speech better.

The reason why I don’t think it’s the first option is because “aesthetics” and “artistic elements” aren’t usually involved in speeches unless they’re poetry or something similar. For regular speeches, though, I don’t think they really involve this kind of thing. For the second option, I don’t think you really listen to put yourself in someone else’s shoes every time you listen to a speech, depending on what the writing wants you to do.

The last one is close, but not quite there. You critically listen in order to determine the supporting/main details of a speech to evaluate a message perhaps at a later time, but you don’t usually do that while you’re listening to the speech. You want to establish the content in your mind or on your paper before you try to analyze it.

Hope this helped you out! 🙂

The ____ command-line tool is used to edit the registry of a windows 7 computer.

[ad_1]

ANSWER: To store files in an organized way

-Don’t trust me completely on this, but compared to the other answer choices, this seems most logical.
-I might not know how this question relates to the subject so I might be wrong, but commonly, folders are used for organizing, especially in file structures.

REASONS WHY OTHER ANSWERS ARE WRONG:
“To store 256 files in one location” is not exactly organized if they are not split in groups.
“To allow Windows naming to be applied” is not the exact purpose for creating folders
“To secure files” is not entirely true, creating folders in a file structure does not make them secure, they are still access-able.

Hope this Helps!

THERE ARE TWO special
triangles in trigonometry. One is the 30°-60°-90° triangle. The other is the
isosceles right triangle. They are special because, with simple geometry,
we can know the ratios of their sides.
In a 30°-60°-90° triangle the sides are in the ratio 1 : 2 : . Note
that the smallest side, 1, is opposite the smallest angle, 30°; while the
largest side, 2, is opposite the largest angle, 90°. And
sqrt(3) is opposite to 60°

Let x be the side opposite to
60

(x/41)= sqrt(3) /1

X = 71.01 ft

D) the tone of the piece, and e) the perspective or point of view. Be sure that your paragraph has a topic sentence that identifies the subject, and provide evidence (quotes) from the excerpt to support each part of the analysis.
“Then I started back, with more fear than food, and went to meet the people whom I had left behind, with the greatest haste I could make. I overtook them after two day’s march and went with them till we had passed the desert and arrived at their home. Here I was not made welcome as previously, because the men as well as the women indulged in much weeping for the persons killed at Cíbola. Without tarrying I hastened in fear from that people and that valley. The first day I went ten leagues, then I went eight and again ten leagues, without stopping till I had passed the second desert. On my return, although I was not without fear, I determined to approach the open tract, situated at the end of the mountain ranges, of which I said above that I had some account. As I came near, I was informed that it is peopled for many days’ journey towards the east, but I dared not enter it, because it seemed to me that we must go to colonize and to rule that other country of the seven cities and the kingdoms I have spoken of, and that then one could see it better. So I forebore to risk my person and left it alone to given an account of what I had seen. However, I saw, from the mouth of the tract seven moderate-sized towns at some distance, and further a very fresh valley of very good land, whence rose much smoke. I was informed that there is much gold in it and that the natives of it deal in vessels and jewels for the ears and little plates with which they scrape themselves to relieve themselves of sweat, and that these people will not consent to trade with those of the other part of the valley; but I was not able to learn the cause for this. Here I placed two crosses and took possession of all this plain and valley in the same manner as I had done with the other possessions, according to my instructions.”
